Went through a range of emotions from mental stress to disillusionment to inspiration working all day at my computer influencing the outcome of YES on 522 in Washington State. The vote comes up Tuesday and Eaters are sending in ballots now. I wrote a number of Plant Your Dream Blogs on the subject of the 1-522. I am turning to this topic after two healing Journeys that I want to write about, the first to the National Heirloom Expo, and the second, Oct 23-28, to the Pacific Symposium in San Diego.
I felt my mind turning to mush reading the various No on 522 reports, and then, then, felt surges of inspiration listening to Vandana Shiva, who to my mind says it like it is Seed Freedom and the battle for Food Democracy.
I highly recommend you listen to her talk recorded in Seattle earlier this year. She ends with a call to support YES on 522.
This morning, November 2, I am going to finish a Plant Your Dream Blog encouraging those I know on Facebook to join with me in making some phone calls into Washington.
Pamm Larry, the Instigator behind Prop 37, is calling for all hands on deck. That would be a lot of us. The opportunity is here, wherever we live, to learn the Callfire system and make some calls. Calling Eaters in Washington State can be intimidating. It was for me before I made my first call.

Consumers clearly want to know whether their food contains genetically modified ingredients. Given that huge interest, foods containing GMOs should be labeled. I’ve written as much before at the website of Discover magazine, trying to persuade scientists that they should support GMO labels.
But Initiative 522 is the wrong way to do it. I-522 mandates that any food containing genetically modified ingredients state so "conspicuously on the front of the package." Yet the scientific consensus on GMOs is that they’re just as safe to eat as any other food. The estimated number of people killed per year from GMOs is exactly zero. Meanwhile, excess consumption of sugar and fat in the United States is estimated to cause hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. Yet sugar and fat are only noted on the back of the package, in the ingredient label. Nuts and shellfish, which are potentially lethal to some eaters, are also noted only on the back, in the ingredients label.
The front-of-package mandate in I-522 isn’t a reasonable attempt to inform consumers. It goes above and beyond that, to place a burden on GM foods that isn’t placed on tremendously more dangerous ingredients. It’s an attempt to tap into fear of GMOs, to drive them off the market, by making them, in the initiative’s words "conspicuous."! ~Ramez Naam

They give the gene manipulators the power to reorganize the Divine Plan, so to speak. Nano particles are very, very small.

In this country you have a spread of super weeds 70 million acres, but
half of US farms are overtaken with weeds that can't be controlled
because of the spread of roundup resistant crops that were suppose to control the weeds.
They are now proposing crops resistant to Agent Orange...2.4D.
It was bad enough that Agent Orange was sprayed on Vietnam.
Do you want to have Agent Orange in your entire Food Chain?
