WWE Money in the Bank’ results: Miz vs. Curtis Axel for IC title

The Brad Maddox promo was all about thanking Mr. McMahon for making him the new general manager and then thanking Vickie Guerrero for everything she did, including a video promo. Finally, at the end, The Miz’s music started and he came out for the IC title match.

Paul Heyman brought out Axel and the match started. Miz had the advantage at first, but Axel went to Heyman for some advice. He then started hitting some nice strikes, but Miz chased Axel out of the ring. While out on the floor, Miz hit a dropkick and then a big clothesline on the floor.

Miz then pretended like Heyman hit him, so the referee kicked Heyman out of the match, sending him back to the back. Heyman is mad and Axel is furious. Somehow, Axel gets the advantage over Miz anyway and starts beating him down. After the two fight back and forth a bit more, Axel finally hits a spinning neckbreaker to The Miz for the win to retain his IC title.

Next up at the “WWE Money in the Bank” PPV is the Diva’s title match.
