Day 2 of Water Fast

“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.” ~ John Lennon

Today is my 2nd day of my water fast. I wasn't planning on water fasting or fasting all day, but I decided to in order to jump start my lifestyle, which is actually about 29 days behind. I made several Year New's resolutions which so far I have been able to keep. One of them is more of a yearly goal: lose 25 pounds and eat healthier. So, I am now currently working on it, as it is now or never.

Last year was a horrible year: I found out that I was pregnant (which was a wonderful thing) and then I miscarried, and the man that I still currently in love with flip-flopped and then dumped me. I am still currently struggling with the rejection with D., so I might talk about it on here a bit.

Yesterday was a particular hard day for me, as I got another shock of rejection from D. It wasn't something he said, but more the habit of him just ignoring me all around. It isn't that I want his attention all the time. I just wanted to make small talk, like we always did. I am learning the hard way that I am no longer important in his life and that really hurts.

But I digress, I am working on a healthier ME, both physically and mentally, as a breakup and a horrible loss really does a number on the self esteem.

So what are my goals in the next 4 days (I will lay down a weekly goal, so I can keep things simple)?

Well, my goals are:

1. Water fast (make it to Day 6)
2. Clean my environment, starting with organizing my bedroom
3. Reading my Bible
4. Do something that rewards me

WATER FAST GOAL: I am on Day 2, and I am feeling very positive that I will be able to make it to Day 6. So far I haven't had any urges to eat anything. I have had a small cup of tea yesterday, but other then that I have only had water. What was my diet before my water fast? It was pretty simple. I was having soup (as I just came off of having an extremely sore throat and was fighting an illness) and light food. I had a bit Chinese food the last 3 days before my fast, as it was the first bit of really “meaty” food I have had. I know it isn't the healthiest, but I am hoping to improve

SNACK: None
LUNCH: 5 ounces of (jarred) salsa and chips
DRINK: Water
SNACK: 6 ounces of (jarred) salsa and chips
DINNER: (around 6:30 p.m.) A serving (based on the restaurant) of Hot & Sour soup

CLEAN GOAL: I think that being healthy means having a healthy environment as well, so I want to work on clearing the clutter, and making my home environment a healthier and happier place to be. The first on the list is my bedroom as it is the smallest room filled with stuff and (hopefully) the easiest on the major used list (the bathroom doesn't have the clutter and such like the other rooms) I hope to have at least part of the room organized. I want to at least get all my craft stuff together, organized and put into my library. Organize my books and DVDs

READ GOAL: My goal was to read the whole Bible in 2013. Currently I am at Genesis 2:5, where I should be at at Exodus 33-34 by the Eat This Bible reading plan. Oh well, I will just have to work at catching up. I guess I will have to put up my personal reading until I am.

REWARD: If I am on track: Still water fasting, cleaning and reading my Bible, then I would like to go see Les Miserable at the local theater. The theater will be showing it on Friday, February 1, at 7:30. I just wonder if I don't do any of these things, other then water fast, if I should still allow myself to go? Should I reward myself for doing nothing? I will have to really think about that.

Currently, I feel very forlorn, as my heart is breaking and has been breaking over the last couple months. I knew that D. and I were drifting apart. He was flip-flopping so much. He acted like he wanted me in his life and then change his mind and say he just wanted to be friends for now, until he could get his head on straight. So, struggling with that hasn't been good for my motivation at all. Honestly, I think I am becoming depressed again.

I am feeling pretty good so far while on this water fast. My stomach grumbled a bit, but I am not currently hungry at the moment, but I know I might feel it more tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a deal breaker for me when it comes to fasting. The third day is always the hardest for me. I don't feel achy or anything. My urine is really dark, but that is because I am not drinking enough water yet. I have always had a habit in the past to almost dry fast on the first 3 days of my water fast, and pick up drinking more water closer to the end of the 3rd day, and drink more on the 4th day and so on. I guess I will see how I am feeling tomorrow.
