FROM THE GROW A HEALTHIER PIZZA-2013 CAMPAIGN
GROW A HEALTHIER PIZZA 2013--RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR A YOUTHFUL PERSON I CAN TEACH PRINCIPLES OF NATURE AS TAUGHT TO ME
It is important to understand where some of our organic companies are coming from before we go on boycotts that hurt the idea of scale.
I would be honored to work with Honest Tea as a Sponsor for the Grow A Healthier Pizza Project 2013. Honest Tea is just one of the companies I admire for ethics who has a parent-child--subsidiary relationship that on the surface makes the "child" company look like an organic traitor. Some on the YES to LABEL IT side say boycott companies, regardless of their independence from the Parent, when the Parent is a company such as Coca Cola. Coca Cola as an example is invested in Honest Tea. It is one of the owners.
Seth Goldman allowed this relationship because he felt his ethics for Honest Tea--that has the highest ethics--could benefit from being in relationship with Coca Cola. In the recent Prop 37 fight in CA, Coca Cola gave over a million to help scare people into voting No. Seth Goldman, on the other hand, came out clearly for YES on Prop 37-Label GMOs. Honest Tea has a clear Non GMO stance. They say Non GMO on the their Honest Tea label. Years ago, there was a lively conversation with their Parent. Coke wanted them to take off the words that said Honest Tea did not have High Fructose Corn Syrup. The Parent, Coca Cola, asked them to take off thise words because it make Coke look bad. Honest Tea won out and the words remained.
Today, we have a nation that is dumbed down by couch potatoism. Most potatoes today are GMO as is Corn, Soy, and Canola Oil, as well as papayas from Hawaii, and a number of other veggies.
It is my contention that we have lost the beat with nature. That is why I say, get in the garden, grow some heirloom seeds, have nature contact, and you can begin to get your 'beet" back. It is time to Keep the Beet if we are ever to win one of this Label It fights in any state.
We need more people educated about the possible dangers of GMOs, the Jeffrey M. Smith Point of view.
So why am I asking my Sponsors and other companies to help me supplement the rent for one student of Life and Nature here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community?
Our rents are not that expensive to the mind of some, but to others, I want to free up one student without plenty of time to have nature contact here in our garden.
I already have influence numbers of high school students to think twice about the Plant Your Dream work;
Here is one feedback I got from the 2012 Grow A Healthier Pizza Campaign.
I want more of this kind of testimonial. I want to create a 7.5 Million + 2 sized grassroots movement in America that helps bring back America the Beautiful. I want to start that Beautification Process right on my front Yard here in San Diego.
I already have organic Alfalfa growing their that flowers. I have many packages of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds that want to go into the ground.
I am now 65. It is time to be able to graze more myself and turn some of the ideas over to the Youth so I can stay young during the second half of my life. I want to adjust to having more people know my ideas through reading the Plant Your Dream Blog. I want more of the literature and poetry I have written during the first 65 years in circulation.
The scholarship will include:
This project will include educating one Student who lives at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community and hiring one off site Admin for some of my projects.
I set out in 2012 to help pass Prop 37 with a vision that unless we had more people with their feet in the garden, we could not get the 7.5 Million + 2 we needed to Win Yes on Prop 37. I would like to be more effective in our 2013 Campaign.
I want to scale up on the Plant Your Dream Blog. I want to learn from masters of marketing such as Seth Goldman.
I want to inspire more youth and parents to Keep the Beat with Nature through growing a beet in a pot, and growing organic alfalfa where their front lawn used to be. I want more people to Grow A Healthier Pizza with ancient Knorasan KAMUT® brand grain and to prove that through growing original seeds, heirloom seeds, we can outgrow many of the issues that come up in our gut when we eat hybrid manipulated grains.
There are numbers of science projects I have already proved on this property. I want to do more.
My inspiration is the work of Edmond Bordeaux Szekely and Dr. Bernard Jensen, two of the elders of the American Health Sanitarium Tradition that took people into a natural environment so that they might grow. To imagine that here in an urban environment within walking distance of SDSU, I can teach nature practices, is in itself, a strange idea, but I want to do it here--for now."--Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener

Dear Uncle Leslie,
Your presentation yesterday blew my mind. Everything you said encouraged me to follow my dreams. the face that you care so much about prop 37 really helped me gain more self belief. that i can do whatever i want to in life. by pouring your opinions to us, it really made some of us aware of our bodies and what we're actually putting into it. If everyone was as passionate as you, the world would become such a better place. you have already made the world improve by talking to us, and helping us plant our dreams. thank you so much for coming to talk to us. i really appreciate it, and i can't wait for you to return.
sincerely,
debra
dear uncle leslie,
i really liked what you had had said when you came to talk to the class. it really made me think about how i want to control my life. i am also noticing the difference between genetically modified foods and fresh foods. i'm going to focus more on the healthier, fresh foods that i eat because i want to be a dancer. so i'll have to keep my body strong and healthy. thank you for coming to talk to us and giving me another outlook on my own life.
thank you,
sincerely,
erin

Does This Pizza Need to be Labeled?
This is an example of a fresh organic out of the Pizza Box Tomato from JR Organics that was available in the heat of the Grow A Healthier Pizza Campaign 2012. Contrast the nutritional value between this tomato and the tomato in a frozen pizza and you will be able to answer this question with some intelligence.
SEED INDUSTRY OWNERSHIP
Monsanto and Company own these seeds and have patents on them and contractedfor some of them. They only grow for one season. Some of them need pesticides to keep away the superbugs that like to eat these seeds. Some of these seeds are GMO. They like to contaminate organic seeds.
