spending Time at the Fluff and Fold Blue Planet Laundry
I want to write about the experience I had the other night at the Fluff and Fold Laundry. I spend about 45 minutes in conversation and getting to know a News Content employee for Channel Six News San Diego.
She came in to do her laundry.
I learned a lot about her ideas and why she was Voting No on 37.
I was more interested in making a connection that to argue. I wanted to hear what she had to say.
I heard a number of arguments repeated that are on the No on 37 side.
She said she had studied both sides.
I will write more about this.
I came away with the feeling that each and every vote that YES on 37 gets is a moral victory.
I am amazed what $40 million in TV ads can do to influence people.
She was convinced from her own study that this people's initiative, started by Pamm Larry, and worked on by near 1 million volunteers was about lawyers making a buck.
That is what the No side is saying.
I would like to post some video of Lisa Bronner, a mom speaking May 2 when we turned in our signatures at the SD Election headquarters.
This is the epitome of a people's movement.
This is so about wanting to do something good for the the world, and so in response to many of us feeling the GMOs are dangerous.
That is not in the Proposition. The proposition is about a Consumer Rights issue, The Right to Know, but in truth, I believe many who are supporting this would like to see GMOs out of the food supply.
Others on the other side, are spending $40 million because they want to keep making a buck on GMOs being in the food supply.
Many countries are kicking GMOs out of their borders.
The US makes lot lot of money from the Sale of GMOS.
The Gov is invested in GMOS. We are backing them.
We are strong arming other nations through trade to go GMO.
We want GMO to win.
That is how I see it.
There are some people in D.C. who work for the USDA who want organic to be in our food supply.
The argument that if you want Organic does not hold up. GMO seeds and organic seeds cannot live side by side.
GMO seeds contaminate our organic fields.
The idea that I heard, if you do not want GMO, just eat organic does not hold up because we have already seen that GMO get in places where they are not welcome.
I want to write more about this important interaction with a well meaning woman who works for Channel Six News.
I am not going to name her.
I appreciate that she trusted me with her email.
I gave her my cell phone and some things I had written.
