I like retreating at Chris's home in Idyllwild.
I drove the EG Mobile up there right after my long distance trip to Santa Rosa for the National Heirloom Expo, September 11,12, 13.
Mike was out of town when I came home to San Diego.
There was a 24 hour window of opportunity to have the EG Mobile checked before going up the arduous climb to Idyllwild.
I believe the EG Mobile was in good shape when I came home.
The EG Mobile was not in good shape when I arrived in Los Angeles
for the Peace Fest at the Iman Center.
I left the Whole Being Weekend Saturday afternoon.
I arrived Thursday, visited the volunteers at the Whole Being Weekend and then stayed at Chris's.
I would like to retreat up there at here home more often, but how I would get up there is now a question.
I have successfully made the trek to Idyllwild in the past in the EG Mobile.
It is likely going to cost me $1000.00 for repairs.
The plan now is to have the EG Mobile towed from Los Angeles to San Diego on Monday.
I do not see driving her down.
She is leaking oil.
I do not want to make the condition worse.
The AAA has a service on my premier card that will tow 200 miles.
I paid more than $100.00 for this service.
Remorseful that I harmed the EG Mobile
I am feeling very remorseful that I harmed the EG Mobile.
This was one of the themes of my Yom Kippur.
There are limits to what she can do.
I did not take the time to make sure she was in good shape before I went up to Idyllwild.
I Wednesday, I took her into Layne's in LA.
He also did not have the time to check her out.
I needed to plan ahead.
I could have called Layne earlier in the week to say that I needed to get in the shop on Wednesday.
He was only able to add oil.
I never checked the fan belt.
Mike said the fan belt was in good shape when I headed north.
When Jesus checked the fan belt on Monday, after the Peace Fest, it was a bad shape and had to be replaced.
Layne torqued her engine to get more compression.
I went in to get a new throttle cable and get the clutch adjusted.
That was when he found the hurting valve, #3.
Other Ways to get up to Idyllwild
I am checking for other ways to get up to Idyllwild.
There is a bus shuttle here.
This is also the home of Jim Nessheim, the founder of the Whole Being Weekend.
There is much to process about the Whole Being Weekend.
This was a very costly trip for me.
I had great resistance to going up there.
No place in the Whole Being Weekend for Spiritual Elders of the Tribe
I did not decide to go up to the Whole Being Weekend until the last minute.
I had resistance for most of the early.
I did not go last year. I had a good excuse. I was on an East Coast Tour.
This year, there were underlying issues, but I could not put my finger on them until I was on the scene again.
The Whole Being Weekend still has value to many, but it is not the same weekend that I gave my heart and soul to for more since 1982.
I will talk about that in other blogs when I have chance.
The communications are not done.
Looking ahead
I want to help my sister and niece Eva later this morning with taking photos of antiques.
Selling things in my father's apartment is now a priority.
I also want to attend the Essene Revival Saturday and Sunday at Manley Hall's Philosophical Library.
That is a Holy Place for me.
