The 7.5 Million + 2 Petition is designed to help raise awareness that more than 7.5 million people are committed to vote for Prop 37— the Right to Know-Label GMOs Proposition.
‘Grow a Healthier Pizza!’ is my rallying cry to pass Prop 37. This September 1-10, I will begin a ten-day Caravan to The 2nd Annual Heirloom Expo in Santa Rosa, held Sep. 11-13. That event falls about two months before the November 6 election. The Caravan is the first leg of the Journey to win back our sacred seeds. I believe we are all sacred seeds as healthy food grow from heirloom seeds. The Caravan will continue to gain signatures for the 7.5 Million + 2 Petition on Change.org. I see the movement to label GMOs—genetically modified organisms), as the ballot initiative that creates the greatest grass roots movement in California history.

Thank you, Steve, for ending your column in the August issue 2012 with these kind words:
We can’t know what comes tomorrow. Planning is good, but security doesn’t come from that or what “they” do. It comes from our knowing that we can cope with what tomorrow brings. Say ‘no’ to those telling us the opposite.
What we can know and control better is the energy and passion we put into something we participate with. That means we feel something. That, by itself, makes a difference. No matter how it turns out, we’ve put ourselves into it. Isn’t that what life is about? Being in life and feeling something?
That’s why I appreciate what Leslie Goldman is doing now with his efforts to pass Proposition 37 (requiring food labels that tell us when GMOs have been added.) How basic is that?
Isn’t it a no-brainer that we should know what we ingest? Wouldn’t it be good to study the effects of GMOs? Thankfully Leslie has the passion and a concern that goes beyond himself and represents us. We have the right to know and choose. Thanks, Leslie, for being a great caretaker of our health.
In the end I admit I’ve got my predictions too. As far as the battle on earth goes—the greed, inhumanity, and wars—it’s no contest. It can never match the passion of people participating with intention and clarity—if we add humane-ness with humanity, we win.
