Regular Wheat Out: Kamut ® In... by YourEnchantedGardener .....

This morning I went to my garden to commune with the Prophet's Wheat that Bob Quinn of Kamut International gave me. I did not realize that in doing so, I would remember the source of much of the Plant Your Dream Teachings that inspired my own journey. Regular Wheat Out: Kamut In...I can see more deeply how modern wheat gives us allergies and feeds brokenness and disconnection. This Ancient wheat called Kamut has been a teacher for me today, and I hope for you. The quotes here have had a lot of meaning for me through the years.

THANKS TO BOB QUINN OF KAMUT ® INTERNATIONAL

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Khorasan_Organic_Wheat_from_Kamut_International.jpg

A few months ago, I asked Bob Quinn, the founder of Kamut® International to send me a 50 pound bag of organic Khorasan wheat for my youth and other educational projects. This morning, March 2, 2012, I spent a few hours with some of these ancient wheat berries. I wanted to reconnect with their meaning. A few hours later, I realize the extent of the gift that Bob gave me. In communing with Kamut--known traditionally as the Prophet's Grain, and an Ancient Grain for Modern Times--I find myself remembering the essence of my own Enchanted Garden Plant Your Dream work.

This blog tells a bit of this story. There is more to tell.
Truly, we are all in a year of a Shift. We do not know where our ground is. At the forthcoming Natural Product Expo West, I will bring some of the Kamut and give it as gifts. In doing so, we can get back our beat with nature.

Thus speaks the Kamut, this Ancient Grain for Modern Times.

I have been working with Kamut, Khorasan, the Prophet's Wheat today. It inspired me to remember where my Plant Your Dream ideas came from.,

This is from an adaptation of a part of the story that appears In "The Essene Book of Asha" by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely. It is true to the meaning in the book. I found this on this website. The website says, Adapted from several tales by the 10th-century Persian poet Firdausi.

http://www.communityofpeace.net/Britxt/Bfirdausi.htm#DE%20KUNST%20VAN%20ASHA

Zarathushtra looked thoughtfully at the king for a moment and then, bending down, he picked up from the ground a grain of wheat. Holding it respectfully between thumb and forefinger, he bowed low before King Vishtaspa and offered him the grain. The king took it in his hand and the Great Sage explained:

"Your Majesty, all the laws that govern heaven and earth may be read in that which you now hold in your hand. The forces of good and of evil are there, and all that you have asked may be answered by conferring with this grain of wheat. I offer you this book, which you may take with you and read at your leisure."

HERE ARE A FEW OF THE TEACHINGS THAT ARE EXPRESSED IN THIS STORY

These are some of my favorite all time quotes of Professor Szekely:

“If you watch the growth of this seed...
you will find that there is an indestructible
and mysterious power in it--the power of life.
If you watch long enough,
you will see that the grain disappears
and is replaced by a plant
which will triumph over
all obstacles and opposition--
which will grow higher and higher
and higher because it has life within it.”

HERE IS ONE MORE POWERFUL TEACHING
FROM A SIMPLE GRAIN OF WHEAT

I say, we are all in a time of immense Shift now.

The story says it like it is:

"You too, must one day ease to be your present self, so that you may become a richer personality, in pursuance of the law that life always creates more life, truth more abundant truth, the seed more abundant seeds.

This is one answer to your problems given by the grain of wheat. It teaches that everything is in movement and is constantly changing and growing. that life and all things else are the result of struggle between two opposite forces. If you go into your garden and will look at soil and rain, at the sky and the sun and the stars, they will teach you many more truths of a like kind.

THIS PLANT YOUR DREAM BLOG SHARES SOME OF THE PROCESSES
TO PLANT YOUR DREAM

These processes that are core to my own Plant Your Dream work were inspired by the story about the grain of wheat that is told in "The Essene Book of Asha."

BRINGING FOCUS ON THE WHEAT ISSUE

There were foods that Dr. Bernard Jensen said were used too much. Dr. Bernard Jensen was one of America's foremost inspiring voices in the Natural Healing Arts.

Two of the big offenders were wheat and milk. The third was sugar.

He would say people were allergic to wheat. He would say that there were many grains. The body naturally wanted variety. The body never wanted so much of the diet to be made of wheat products.

Dr. Bernard Jensen would say that the average American's diet is 29% wheat. For good health it should be 4 %.

KAMUT STEPS IN

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Kamut_International_Khorasan_Wheat_by_Leslie_Goldman_Your_Enchanted_Ga.jpg

This is a pin from Kamut International in a Khorasan wheat. I was doing photos today, March 2, 2012 to deepen my connection with this ancient grain that I see as a centerpiece of the Organic Uprising 2012 Campaign.

Then, Kamut came on the scene. Kamut is an ancient grain. Many of the things that we can do with modern wheat, we can do with Kamut.

We will be exploring the uses of Kamut here on the Plant Your Dream Blog.

I am going to bat for Kamut.

I have a sense that many of the allergies with wheat come from modern wheat and how far it has been developed that is far from the original ancient grain of wheat. I want to know if much of the allergic reactions people have with wheat do not apply to Kamut, the trade name for Khorasan ancient wheat.

One of my the main reasons, I have been sold on Kamut is because of Bob Quinn. We spent time together at the Organic Summit in Baltimore. I also met his family. I spent time at the Kamut International Booth.

Kamut is called the Prophet's Grain

One of the stories that Bob told me, caught my ear. In his studies, he discovered not only an ancient grain, but a story of a grain that has been highly valued by ancient people.

There is a story told that Kamut is called the Prophet's Grain. The Prophet that was referred to was Noah. Noah? Yes, Noah? Remember the story? And God told Noah to take two of each kind of animal...and presumably food...
and put it on the Ark. God did this so after the Cleansing, we might have a grain that was good for people to eat.

2012 is Certainly the Year to Return to What is Good for Us to Eat

2012 in my mind is the year of the Shift. This is the year when more and more people will get their beat back with nature. This getting our beat back, will cause an Organic Uprising.

Organic Uprising 2012, the part I want to play, is teaching people about the role of grasses in our lives.

Kamut can be grown as a grass.. Bob sent me a 50 lb bag of Kamut.

I have the grain stored safety in three containers. I am tying it in with my
Beet Keepers, Return Youth Projects for 2012.

I am just learning how to grow Kamut as a grass.

Organic Uprising 2011, we added Organic Alfalfa to our list of foods you can grown in containers. In 2012, I am adding Kamut, this ancient grain.

More Youth will Regain their Confidence that they can grow Food in 2012
I spoke at Organic Listening Day September 20, 2011, as part of my East Coast Tour, September 15-25, 2012.

I visited the People's Garden at the USDA. When Sec of Ag Tom Vilsack started this noteworthy project. He announced that the People's Garden Initiative would be Organic. That is why when I refer to the People Garden, I call it the People's Organic Garden.

I have a dream. There are going to be 1,000,000 more Organic People's Gardens in schools. The project will begin with school kids growing Kamut in small BioSmart Containers and other reused pots of all sizes.

STEP ONE:
HOW FAST CAN A DREAM GROW?

This is a pot of Kamut I grew in a BioSmart Pot.
This picture was taken January 30, 2012, I planted some Kamut mixed with Alfalfa last Sunday, February

This idea, "How Fast can a Dream Grow?" was already planted in me when I started Organic Uprising 2011.

I made a video of youth growing grass in BioSmart Compostable Containers.

BioSmart has been my most consistent Sponsor for the Plant Your Dream Blogs for three years now.

The idea will be to grow the Kamut Wheat in Biiosmart containers.

A good source of soil will also be Needed for the Project

Dreams grow best in fertile soil.

This will be another part of the teachings.

Education about fertile soil will be part of the project.

This component will involve soil making.

It will also be about revering the farmers who are growing organic food in
healthy soil.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE OTHER USES OF KAMUT?
What are some of the other uses of Kamut that come to Mind?

Wheatgrass was one of the most first grasses to be honored for its rich Chlorophyll content. Dr. Bernard Jensen spoke highly of wheatgrass.

How about Kamut grass as a substitute for Wheat Grass?

I want to talk to Bob Quinn about this.

He has already mentioned that Kamut would be a good grain for
Wheat grass.

WHEAT IS ALSO HONORED IN THE JEWISH TRADITION

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Shabat_cloth_for_Challah_a_Traditional_Bread_made_with_wheat.jpg

These is the Hebrew word for Shabat.

Wheat is also honored in the Jewish Tradition. Each Friday night, wheat is eaten in the sacred bread. I have a sense that most of this wheat is not organic. Kamut, as Bob Quinn grows it, is organic. He is working with many farmers.

I want to explore having Kamut being substituted for the wheat that is used
to make Challah.

The Holiday of Shavuot...

Barley is a winter grain. It is harvested in Winter, and the counting of the barley is called the Counting of the Omer.

Wheat is also planted and harvested later. It is very exciting to have
wheat grain growing in my garden. Here are a few of the stalks I have harvested here.

I believe these are from my first round of Kamut.

I will check these with Bob Quinn.

This are some of the ideas I have on my mind this morning. I leave for the Natural Product Expo West next Wednesday. I will see Bob Qunn and his family there.

I am sure my ideas and these seed dreams for Kamut will be growing.

DOING RITUALS WITH THE KAMUT

It is powerful to have this story in my thoughts again.

HERE IS ONE OF THE QUOTES FROM THAT STORY
THAT HAS BEEN STRONG IN MY LIFE

THE "SILVER" BOX METAPHOR

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Silver_Box_Now_has_Kamut_International_Khorazan_Wheat.jpg

A STUDENT AT HAMI HIGH IN LOS ANGELES WROTE A SONG FOR ME ABOUT THE MAGIC BOX

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/High_school_Youth_with_the_Magic_Box.jpg

The Sacred Box Metaphor,,,,has become one of the central metaphors for
The Plant Your Dream Work. This metaphoor of the box came from the story told by Edmond Bordeauux Szekely in "The Essene Book of Asha."

The arrival of Kamut, the Prophet's Grain, will reignite the teachings
of Edmond Bordeaux Szekely for me.

Here is one paragraph from "The Book of Asha":

The story, from which this is a part, is called "The
Legend of Zarathrustra."

This story is at the core of my own Enchanted Garden teachings. When I say that growing a plant can help us get our beat back with nature. This is a reference to this four or five page story that so influenced me many years ago.

Then, the King took the golden box containing the grain of wheat and answered, "I asked Zarathrustra to teach me; see, this is what he sent to me.
Here is the teacher who shall teach me the laws of the universe and the forces of nature. is this not ridiculous? How can as great a teacher as you think Zarathrustra to be commit such folly?"

Tsengregacha looked long at the grain of wheat and silece fell upon the palace while he meditated. At length he said, "I do not regret my many months of journeying, for now I know that Zarathustra is in truth the great teacher that I have long believed him to be.

This tiny grain can indeed teach us the laws of the universe and the forces of nature, for it contains them in itself. Even if you must not keep the grain of wheat in its golden box if you would learn the answers to the weighty questions which trouble you and if you would grow in wisdom and understanding, so you yourself must not stay in this luxurious palace.

If you plant this little grain in the earth where it belongs, in contact with the soil, the rain, the air, the sunshine and the lgith of the moon and of the starts, then, like a universe in itself, it will begin to grow bigger and bigger. Likewise you, if you would grow in knowledge and understanding, must leave the artificial palace and go into your garden, where you will be close to all the forces of nature and of the universe--to the sum total of things.

KEEP THE BEET--A CREATION OF MY INSPIRATION CAME FROM THIS NEXT PARAGRAPH OF THE STORY TOLD BY SZEKELY

Just as inexhaustible sources of energy are ever flowing towards the grain planted in the earth, so will innumerable sources of knowledge open and flow towards you, till you become one with nature and the organic universe.

WHEAT HAS HAD GREAT MEANING FOR ME

with wheat has great meaning for me,

“If you watch the growth of this seed...
you will find that there is an indestructible
and mysterious power in it--the power of life.
If you watch long enough,
you will see that the grain disappears
and is replaced by a plant
which will triumph over
all obstacles and opposition--
which will grow higher and higher
and higher because it has life within it.”

from "The Book of Asha,"
by Edmond S. Bordeaux
(Edmond B. Szekely)

I will review that story later.

HERE IS ONE BEET KEEPER TEACHING INSPIRED FROM THE SAME SOURCE AS THE ESSENE BOOK OF ASHA
