Former Goat from La Milpa Organic Farm, now a resident at Wild Willow Education Center, will be offered new shoots of Arundo Donax, Giant Reed, in an upcoming experiment to see if goat's will eat the plant called an invasive species by the San Diego Fire Prevention Bureau. The current practice is to call Arundo Trash, take it to the dump, and recommend Roundup herbicide to kill the roots.

My friend Nadine gets the lowdown on the opportunity to be one of 850,000 Signers for the California Ballot Initiative to Label GMOs. I got tips on how to register votes from James Mattioda, of the Arcana Apothacary . James, who took this photo, made sure I knew what to tell people when signing the petition. "Are you a registered voter?" is an important question. Only signatures from registered voters will count. To be registered means you get a ballot at the address where you sign the petition.
