Start Day Minus Two. A juicing plan. by #59002 .....

Plan, part 1.

OK, so I've blown the dust off the juicer, washed it and cleaned the fridge!
So :) I'm ready for Saturday's big vegetable shop, and that afternoon - October 1st - will be the start of my juice fast.

I'm aiming to juice ten days to two weeks. And I'll be using psyllium hulls as a bowel cleanse at the same time. Usually I hit a "detox crisis" six or seven days into a juice fast and after that it gets easier again.

So, yeah. I've done juice fasts of between four and twenty eight days before. That (the juicing) part of what I'm doing is no big deal.

....This blog will NOT be a childish rant about how hard I'm finding it to avoid the cookie jar one day, and how other people are making it difficult for me the next.. ;)

I have three children, and a husband (who will be away Oct 1st - 4th) and I need to cook for them too.
I won't be complaining about that. I've done juice fasts in the past - in my pre marriage and children days - that seemed much harder to stick to. Being busy with childrens routines and all the cooking etc. actually helps me find my juicing groove. There's just less time for angsting, procrastinating, and general stuffing around. :)

The most difficult things for me on a juice fast are:

*Social situations. Basically I find it best to avoid them. A picnic today is my last "must attend" social committment for the next few weeks so I should be sweet there.

*Elimination. Bah. Enemas, salt water flushes, smooth move tea. I don't get excited about any of them ;) But elimination is VITAL.
This time I'll stick with enemas.
I find the salt flushes really harsh, although very effective.

*The first 36 hours - and hunger pains. The programmed reminders to eat fade pretty quickly after the first day but I find I need good distractions and a kind of willpower in the beginning.

I'll post about the second part of my plan - the urine therapy, and the reasons for it, later...

Annie.
