To all of Debbie’s beloved fans who have inquired about making donations in her memory:
A number of years ago, Debbie established the Renewal of Spirit Foundation with the goal of manifesting her life’s work and all that she stood for. Now, donations to the Renewal of Spirit Foundation will enable the projects that Debbie was working on at the time of her death to be completed. These funds will also support future projects reflecting her passions and commitments. In a note to her fans on this very website, Debbie wrote, “Remember, out of what emerges from life’s painful challenges will come our healing.” The tragedy of Debbie’s death presents a deeply painful challenge and it is our hope that your support of the Renewal of Spirit Foundation will help to begin your healing.

OLD INFO ON THE INTERNET
Inspired by the healing work of Debbie Friedman, in 1997, a group of Jewish educators, rabbis, cantors, and lay leaders, established the Renewal of Spirit Foundation to develop new liturgy, to support Jewish healing and spiritual renewal, and to bring Jewish healing to individuals, congregations and communities throughout the world.
In an effort to meet the needs of those who are not able to attend healing services, the Renewal of Spirit Foundation will produce a healing service on video and audio disk/book formats, using Debbie's prayer-music specially designed for healing. These materials will be designed for, and made available to, individuals who are in hospitals, nursing homes, senior citizen centers, hospices, and others who are experiencing illness, loss, suffering or pain, and loneliness. In addition, the foundation will create a model community-wide Jewish healing service program that will then be duplicated across the country, as well as administer a grants program.
