The facts in this documentary do not add up.
I put in about 40 hours looking into this.

I already knew Kelly Shea, who is one of the most
committed organic advocates we have.
She is one of the board members of OTA who
is maligned in this documentary that has
misinformation and possible disinformation.

ONE OF THE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS
FOR ME IS WHY THIS UNNAMED GROUP
WENT AFTER OTA IN THE FIRST PLACE

If I wanted to move along the labeling
of GE foods, I would not waste my time
going after one of the lead organic trade association
who with limited staff works to uphold
the organic standard.

After talking for 25 minutes to Julia Sabin,
I found no reason to suspect that this very
good hearted woman, who serves many causes
and wears many hats of service to her personal family,
OTA, and job, was in a conflict of interest because
she is VP of an umbrella that has many investments
in food processiing, some organic and some non organic.

It is a fact of life the GMO proliferation is in many of our
foods. Those on the Organic Side want labeling.

I clearly know Kelly Shea's position on this.
She, and the organic companies she midwife's,
are Non- GMO project sponsors.

She is as well a committed ally of Jeffrey Smith,
one of the lead GMO labeling and GE educators
who is out to create a tipping point against
GE organisms in our food supply.

Julia Sabin, president of OTA has a limited role
in what she does and does not do within the OTA.

To lay the progress we have made as a movement
toward labeling GE Foods in the lap of OTA, imagining
they are the association that could have done more
to make progress is simply to put misdirect our energies.

Most of the OTA leadership has their hands full with other
issues pertaining to the important work they are doing.

I rejoined the group after a number of years absence.

I am just now getting into looking at the many powerful
forums and advocacy communications with OTA.

I will keep you all posted as I become more involved.
