Let's come together to be the change we want to see in the world


We are a group of people who want to organize efforts in our neighborhoods to increase food justice and equality.

We gathered and found inspiration at

San Diego Cultivating Food Justice Event 2011

We represent areas:
North Park, South Park, Golden Hill, Downtown, Hillcrest, Little Italy and Bankers Hill.

We are interested in creating neighborhood gardens. The city is getting closer to making the permit process easier for us to show up and garden. We are hoping that by June we will be ready to start settling into plots of land.

Let's act now! Let's get out and be the change we wish to see. Some can focus on this legislative work, and some can get their hands dirty organizing.

We want to come together to:
- harvest fruit trees growing through out the city,
- eatable weeds,
- create a compost sharing process,
- spread the word about food plants vs. ornamental plants,
- begin land sharing: finding yards around San Diego whose owners would like to see it used, and plant food gardens,
- create neighborhood produce exchanges, perhaps at the farmer's markets, perhaps just at the park,
- create a planning committee to bring the work of the many local grass roots organizations together,
- create a hub of information of local organizations in a central location
- guerrilla gardening and general seeding of open spaces,
- create google map of fruit trees around San Diego
