FASCINATING!

I have been helping out and being a part of this history
and I did not know it till I looked this up.

The work at the 2011 Cultivating Food Justice Event
April 9-10 was profound.

NEW GERMAN RELIEF UNIT

American Branch Formed to Aid Work Headed by Einstein.

At the request of the International Relief Association, headed by Albert Einstein, an American committee has been formed to assist Germans suffering from the policies of the Hitler regime.

Funds are being solicited to send to Mayor Charles Hueber of Strassbourg, in Alsace, France, who is treasurer of the European organization of the International Relief Association. The headquarters of the American Committee, of which Amos Pinchot is chairman, is at 11 West 42nd Street.

The association has been in existence for the last two years. It aids victims of civil oppression in many lands without reference to religious or political faith.

An emergency session here of the national executive committee of the American Jewish Congress was summoned yesterday for Aug. 6 by Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum, its chairman, to formulate a coordinated plan of action in behalf of the Jews of Germany.

THE ROOTS OF OUR FOOD EMERGENCY

SENATE DOCUMENT 1936 ON LOSS OF MICRONUTRIENTS

The alarming fact is that foods –
fruits, vegetables and grains –
now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer
contains enough of certain needed nutrients, are starving us --
no matter how much we eat of them.

U S Senate Document 264 1936

Our food system is rapidly losing its ability to produce food with nutrient levels ad- equate to maintain the health of our families. There is no guarantee that the food produced and harvested meets nutritional standards needed to maintain good health. To change this threat to the health of our families and the families of the world an effec- tive strategy to increase the nutritional values of our food and restore the minerals and organic material in our depleted our soils is needed.

The Nutrition Security Institute (NSI) aims to restore depleted soils,

WE HAVE REACHED THE TIPPING POINT

We need an honest and authentic Dialogue on Science,
Ethics, and Food.

I planted seeds with Dr. Robert Fraley, father of Round Up Ready,
when I met him at the AAAS in Feb 2011. This is not the time
to berate or villify anyone, this is the time to allow for honest
research that is separate from corporate policy regarding seeds
that may likely be misguided.

We need to get help Monsanto Corps come home to Saint Louis
as a company deserving of public support. We need to have a future
including Monsanto that involves each of us being an Organic Uprising!
Standing up for Nature's Original Technology is the message for this moment
in time post March 11.

I stand with the intent of Sec of Ag Tom Vilsack when he began
the People's Garden Project in 2009.

The People's Garden Project needs to stand behind Organic
sustainable practices 100 %. Co-existence with conventional and GE
production has not been tested.

The evidence appearing on the table, even on the desk of Sec of Ag
Vilsack indicates we need to Chew on Food Safety: A National Conversation
is needed. Slow down.

We cannot afford to deregulate GE Seeds of any kind.

The economy and health of the US and the world cannot afford this.

Please, if GE seeds work and can benefit humanity, prove it
truthfully.

The White House now needs to get fully in the farm bed of its own
White House Garden that was intended to be organically grown.

Slow down.
Get in sync with the beat of nature.
Encourage every child to and grown up to grow a bit of our own food.

KEEP THE BEET

Keep the beat with nature through growing a simple beet in a pot
surrounded by Organic Alfalfa Seeds.

INTENTION
WE ARE ALL REFUGEES NOW

"An emergency session here of the national executive committee of the American Jewish Congress was summoned yesterday for Aug. 6 by Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum, its chairman, to formulate a coordinated plan of action in behalf of the Jews of Germany."

Just as the International Rescue Committee originally met
to rescue refugees, we need to realize that we are all refugees now
until we reestablish our beat with nature, and right relationship
between "Man, Woman, Child, and Vegetable."

Tomorrow is the anniversary of First Lady Michelle Obama's
visit to the International Rescue Committee's New Roots Organic Farm
in City Heights.

I will bring out a Chapter One
of Organic Uprising #CityHeights.

The First Draft of an outtake is already online here.

I am deeply moved looking at
and being a part of this tremendous work
that was inspired by Albert Einstein,
who has always been an inspiration.

EMAIL RECEIVED

Dear Friend of the IRC,

Welcome to the International Rescue Committee and thank you for your interest in our lifesaving work on behalf of people around the world who are struggling in the wake of conflict, persecution, violence, or natural disaster.

Please take a moment to watch this short video for a glimpse into the journeys of families whose lives the IRC has helped rebuild.

We began our work in 1933, at the suggestion of Albert Einstein, to assist refugees fleeing Nazi persecution. Today the IRC works in more than 40 countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Haiti.

We help children who have lost their homes and families.
We counsel women and girls who are victims of sexua| violence.
We provide clean water, sanitation services, medicine and other essential supplies to thousands of refugees who have been forced to flee their homes.
And, for those who cannot return home and are admitted to the United States as refugees, we help them rebuild their lives in their adopted country.
In the next week, I will send you two additional messages that highlight ways to become involved with the IRC and help support our efforts to rescue lives. I look forward to sharing more of our story with you.

Welcome.

Sincerely,

George Rupp
President, International Rescue Committee
