David gave comment at the GMO Political Challenge
Session at the Natural Product Expo West

I had a bowl full of Organic alfalfa seedings that
were on stage as the Organic Leader Stakeholders spoke.

After the session, David was with Andrew Kimbrell of the Center for Food Safety we planted seeds for a Take Two for Planet Earth.

The Center for Food Safety has important court cases
to turn around the decision by the USDA to allow the
planting of GE Alfalfa.

I have a warm spot in my heart for the Bronner family.
I would see Dr Bronner at various events in the 70's.
I lived in Escondido with Dr. Bernard Jensen, and Dr. Bronner
also lived in that city in North San Diego County.

Ralph Bronner, a son of Dr. Emanuel Bronner
has sponsored a number of my projects with contributions
over the years.

David is president of the company and continues
to lead the organic world with support of vital projects.

Among them is Fair Trade and educating the world
about the value on Hemp.

I use this soap.

It is part of my lifestyle.

Peppermint soap in the bottle is a standard
is a classic. Over the years, I have friends who have worked
for the Bronner family when Grandpa was alive.

David was at the GMO Panel at the Natural Product Expo West
and is featured in the first Video I made
where key Organic Leader Stakeholders urge us to take action now
for the sake of our children.

My next step will be to make a video of Organic Uprising #CityHeights.

I am Seeing and Seeding that we have reached the TIpping Point
that will come from Industry and the Grassroots seeing themselves
as one movement.

HERE IS SOME OF MY TALK FROM THE OPENING SPEAK OUT
WHERE I ADDRESS THE TIPPING POINT

GOING FAIR TRADE

Going Fair Trade: The Challenges of Setting Up Sustainable and Fair Supply Chains and Getting Them Certified

Being responsible to the people we work with has always been a pillar of Dr. Bronner's business philosophy. In 2002, we decided to expand that philosophy to our supply chains and determined to shift our major raw materials to certified organic. By 2003, all our soaps were certified under the USDA's National Organic Program (NOP), but over the next two years we realized that our supply chains were opaque to us: we bought from intermediate brokers and did not know whether the organic farmers, farm workers and factory workers in our supply chains received fair prices and wages, or whether child or exploited labor made our organic oils.

While the organic movement initially had social criteria regarding pricing, wages and working conditions, those had been completely dropped from the final NOP regulations. Inspired by fair trade brands, such as Equal Exchange and Guayaki, in 2005 we decided to commit our company's full financial and staffing resources to converting all major raw materials and supply chains to certified fair trade status. These materials include organic coconut, palm, olive and mint oils, and they collectively constitute over 95% by weight of our agricultural volume - everything except water and the alkali needed to saponify our soaps. In effect, this switch would allow us to produce "fair trade" soaps.
