A comment on the raw milk DVD from a share holder of a cow share program that is affiliated with Michael Schmidt who I consider to be Canada's leading advocate for raw milk!

Just submitted the following comment at The Bovine:

I feel sadness about the unhappy state of legal affairs in your “neck of the woods” with no milk flowing for you and your fellow co-op members. Have you or any of your fellow members considered “civil disobedience” based on your unalienable Rights to Life and Pursuit of Happiness?[3]

Members of Our Farm Our Food Coop are in a tight spot due to injunctions granted January 5th to Ontario Milk Director Gavin Downing and the Regions of York, Simcoe and Peel.

In short these injunctions would shut down the “milk plant” at Glencolton Farms and also criminalize continued “distribution” of raw milk in the Regions of York, Simcoe and Peel. The injunctions apply to anyone who has knowledge of the court ordered injunctions, so potentially these apply not just to the operations of Glencolton Farms and the Our Farm Our Food Coop (OFOF) but to any raw milk suppliers or cowshare groups.[2]

I imagine that people in the co-op could possibly milk their own cows and bypass both the “milk plant” and the “distribution”.

Just found this and immediately thought of The Bovine:

Supremacy of God. Canada's founders acknowledged God is supreme and acknowledged scripture as the word of God, the truth and supreme Law. The King James Bible circa 1611 is used as a reference to the word of God. Canada, therefore, is a nation under God."[i]

Re: "Canada's founders ... acknowledged scripture as the word of God, the truth and supreme Law" - and I see "22 Bible results for 'milk and honey.' "[ii]

Can the good men of Canada hold the "judge" in this case to the same spirit of the founders? Can "scripture as the word of God, the truth and supreme Law" be admitted into this court?

A Thumbs Up Media Review - Raw Milk: The Whole Truth

This is a recording of Mark McAfee of Organic Pastures Dairy in California having an informal discussion with Dr. Dale Jacobson about the value of raw milk. The discussion opens with a quick history of milk. Those who have read The Untold Story of Milk by Dr. Ron Schmid will be familiar with this fascinating story.

Following this is a discussion on how allergy trends align with antibiotic use and consumption of pasteurized milk. One interesting point concerns the fact the genetically engineered bovine growth hormone rBST is only allowed in the U.S. and condemned elsewhere. In the U.S., demand for rBST is dropping due to falling demand for commercial milk.

Mark McAfee probably has a million fascinating stories and he shares one in this video about a young Masai who came to the United States to attend Stanford University. This intelligent man came here in good health but developed Crohn’s disease. He was unable to consume any dairy until he discovered raw milk from Organic Pastures. Today he is on the road to recovery. The health benefits of cultured dairy products like yoghurt and kefir come up in the conversation and there are brief mentions of studies like the Parsifal Study which shows children on raw milk tend to be less susceptible to certain illnesses and allergies.
