My mentally ill mother has been on hard drugs ever since her third pregnancy. Lithium, xyprexa, all sorts of things to try and stabilize her moodswings and manic states and depressive states... Her mental illness started when she had a 5 week abortion as a teenager in the sixties/seventies.

The thing lacking to help a mentally-suffering woman is -sunlight-. It creates a protien called cholecaliferol in the skin, in freckles and a good tan. Almost all of it is used in the brain, for the normal firing of neuron to neuron, and it balances out sleep difficulty, pain, and mental issues.

Linked to mental suffering is a lack of calcium in the body, due to a lack of D3, Cholecalciferol. Calcium levels in the body are the building blocks for bones, and it heavily effects mood. If a woman suffers with heavy PMS, she needs a little extra D3 that week, and some extra milk in the morning.

Depression is one of the widest-spread sufferings we have in our country today. It eases off in the summer, with better sun exposure, and comes heavy with immune system problems in the winter. D3 is also -necessary- for the healthy function of the immune system, as it regulates the normal function. It's the protien that the body uses to attack mutated cells, viruses, bacteria, etc. It's why large blood vessels form around a tumor- to bring the cholecalciferol protien there.

Diabetes is one of the heaviest forms of D3 defciency. And it's not one dose of D3 and you're fine. It's an equal level in the blood, all year around, for a slow and natural healing. At heavy symptoms of mental distress, so long as you are on -NO- opitates or psychoactive drugs, can help nigh right away. However, it is unadviseable without a doctor's appointment. Diabetics will have sudden low bloodsugars if they take high doses of D3 without consulting their endocrinologist. (personal experience)

Mental illness after pregnancy and a postpartum-depression (the depression after giving birth) is linked to a deficiency of D3 in the blood. In pregnancy you're supplying D3 for two people, and right before birth, the placenta loads the baby up with it for an immune-system burst. The heavy levels of D3 in the newborn can create yellowish skin, which wears off as the baby uses it on their own.

The first signs of D3 deficiency are periodontal disease (tooth decay and/or bleeding gums), ache/rosacia, flaking skin on the scalp or feet, and dark rings under the eyes. Dark rings under the eyes are linked to kidney health, and D3 has functions in the kidneys.

In fact, it is used all throughout the body. It is used in the formation of fat cells and the breaking down of them, so keep simple carbs like white bread, sodas, baked goods, candies, etc, at a minimum.

Instead, eat lotsa protien (eggs, pork, beef, chicken, turkey, mungbeans, chickpeas, navybeans, lentils, edible insects... FISH!) in the morning to keep your glucose levels good throughout the day (they fill up the tummy best). Have a multivitamin, some D3, and some yogurt in the morning, and have plenty of fruits and green veggies through the day. Eat what you like of carbs and such at dinner. Youube, lays out healthy eating habits nicely and quickly )

DO NOT, DO NOT---- be on D3 and Calcium supplements at the same time. D3 allows the intestines to absorb all the calcium it needs through your diet, and calcium is in ALL of your foods. All cereals are enriched in it. A proper D3 supplementation will heighten your calcium levels MUCH TOO HIGH on a calcium supplement, and deposit the unnecessary calcium in your kidneys. That leads to kidney stones and permanent damage.

High intake of D3 CANNOT be done without the high-protien breakfasts. Eating protien allows your body to naturally replace the damaged cells that D3 removes. Eating on a grain-based diet with D3 supplementation will help your brain, but you'll put on fat, too.

It all comes down to what God made us for. He made us to live out in a garden filled with his love and light, and walking with him, nakie. Do you think maybe we were naked for a reason, hrrm? He gave us first fruits to eat, and then when we sinned, vegetables and grains, and when at last the flood came, our bodies couldn't make the protiens we need from plant matter.. so he gave us --MEAT--. Remember that Pork is Badbad. Fish is GoodGood.

Calculate your own needs for D3 with your doctor. There is a dosage you can calculate per pound/kilogram of your weight, with higher or lower dosages depending upon amount of solar exposure (indoor/outdoor activity), and season. It's all on http://www.vitamindcouncil.org
, including the latest research papers on deficiency and it's effects in most major sufferings we have in western society. Most of that is under research. Information on how it works in the body is under physiology, how to treat with it is under 'treatment', vitamins you need alongside it are on the front page (All covered by a cheap multivitamin), and the mental illness/depression pages are especially good.

I'm praying for the woman who doesn't feel like herself any more after coming of the tranquilizer she was on. I understand! My mother has been on a teensy bit of D3 for eight years now, and it is the one reason she has been slowly recovering. God gave us sunlight. He loves us. He loves you. His spirit is near under every circumstance, and every prayer is heard, no matter how menial, no matter how trivial, no matter how small. His hands bear us throughout every circumstance, no matter the issue.

And wow. I didn't know.. that D3 is so important to a diabetic. ( http://www.endo.theclinics.com/article/S0889-8529(10)00015-0/abstract
) First my sleep started to go, then my teeth, then my insulin-production flew out the window (G'bye!) and then two months later, I was in the mental hospital for tranqs for insomnia. Then two years later I had a benign bone tumor in my left wrist which they operated away, bone and all. Then it came back in the tissue two months later, and after a year and a half, the tumor was in my hand and wrist. And when I got married in 2002, it was throbbing away in my wrist, and had spread to my chest wall and not on the lungs. And in Denmark? They removed all the cancerous tissue, in open chest surgery, and amputated the left hand (2003). In 2005 we tried to extend the bone at my stump with a surgical break in the bone and a screw-device-lengthening process, but there was never enough calcium in me to heal the bone normally or fight off infection that came at the site of the screws.

The paper on D3 deficiency and diabetes (already linked to) came out in June 2010. In Dec 17, 2010, the Institute of Medicine came out with a paper ( http://dermatology.jwatch.org/cgi/content/full/2010/1217/1
) stating that most americans and canadians have plenty of D3 in their blood. But guess what the report is based on? A wide-spectrum study of people in modern society across all lifestyles, diseases, conditions, weight, jobs and hobbies. It is -not- based off of pre-industrial society folk working outside to harvest their food, or against farmers outside 4-6 hours a day in arizona with a good intake of meats!

Again, bible says, 'come, let us reason together-'. The bible supports science. The bible is full of people learning from their own mistakes, and God dealing with them. Jesus' beloved disciple, John, was a greek doctor, who had the training of logic, documentation, and study. If you want to learn about love, read corinthians 1+2, John's letters, the gospel of John, and guess who got put to task to write revelations? Joooohn.

Written with a smile and a prayer, -moi.
