NOTE TO HOUSEMATES
DRAFT
January 6, 2011

I appreciate the desire of housemates here to have a say
in who lives here and the thought that in doing so we would
foster more community. Having more voice will need to include
responsibility for vacancies and a willingness to help with
additional expenses. The intent of the recent process was
to begin discovery of what a shared mission and vision might
be and then to look at how we might move in the direction
of more shared leadership.

I have said many times over the past few years that I did not
want to manage this place.

For years, I have had the final say regarding who lives here,
and at the present time, in this time of transition and possible
refinancing of the house, or sale of the house, it does not make sense to have a vacancy in newly vacated room while a person is in need of a temporary space, and we are in need of the income from the rent of this space.

Therefore, I am expanding her stay for a few weeks.

With the uncertain state of the Dome regarding rent,
and the present instability of rentals in the house,
the budget for January is potential at a deficit of 1/5 of our
income, this makes the most sense.

I apologize if this decision goes against your desire.

WASHING CLOTHES

Went down in the basement to wash some clothes
before paying the rent. Met the Mother of Yannie there,
our guest right now. I stopped to talk.


GAZING AT THE HISTORY OF PEACE ON EARTH

In recent years, I have eliminated at least 1/3 of my papers
from the basement. There is are still a mass of notebooks
and containers. Some represent the history of the last
40 years of New Age History I lived, as well as
Dr. Bernard Jensen archives.

i have it in my mind to move from here today.
I am going to explore this with a possible other place
to live asap.

I am reflecting on the insanity of my own life.

I am also noting the profound amount of materials
here that represent Seeds planted to grow 1000 years of peace.
I feel I have done a good job at this.

I am reflecting how wonderful it has been to have had the
nest of this land since 1982. I have written a profound amount
of materials. It would take truly many months to "strike the set"
here.

I feel I have placed numbers of pieces of art and important
work on this Plant Your Dream Blog.

I would like to get a lot more of these materials on line
presuming we will still have time to put things online and read
things on line as a species.

I know a tremendous Shift has occurred.
We are all being asked to adapt to the Shift.

MOST OF THE PROPHETS WERE INSANE

Most of the prophets that were recorded
in the old testament were insane.
I feel I am in good company.


ADVISE FROM JUDITH RENO LARKIN

She was talking about getting older as
a time to grieve our losses of dreams.

I actually was feeling that at 63 I am still very much
young, and could possibly have my best years ahead.

What is clear is that being the manager here
has taken a lot out of me and had a high price
on my health. I have made the most of this situation.
It has been an honor to caretake and live with so many
beautiful plants who I have watched grow.

I do not know how much more time I will have here.

I want to keep it going as long as it makes sense
to give time to transition.

I also need to make sure that this works for the place
that I will likely move.

There is an issue of paying rent over there that
is a consideration.

I will have to discuss this with the primary co-owner
here.

First things first.

Pay the rent, as much as I have.
May the mortgage.

Then, see if I can go over to talk to my
new likely landlord.

THE OTHER OPTION

The other option would be asking
a number of the people who live here
to move out.

I am feeling depleted right now and needing
to rest. I did not sleep well last night.

The importance of food was brought home to me recently. Someone I know was totally healed by food. Doctors and drugs did not do that. Food did. The kind of food that is threatened by the food bill.

I am deeply grateful for all you did to start a national conversation, and to stop the bill.

I tried in my own way to fight it, but what you did was awesome. You are a hero. I mean that.

And there was an important victory. S3767 was not added to the bill, and did not pass. There are no criminal penalties, as far as I can tell. If not for the outcry against it, it would have passed.

But I do think that quality food is worth fighting for. Maybe something like the civil rights movement of the 60s is called for. A food rights movement?

I will think more on this. The year is coming to an end, and perhaps the birth of a new year will provide a chance for inspiration as to what to do.

I feel unnerved.
All rents did not come in.
Some missing.
Less stable than ever.
Would like enough to at least cover the mortgage.
