We are now in the Lame Duck session, where hopes had once been high that last minute items on the Democratic wish list might squeak through. Unfortunately, the Saturn transit quincunx the Congress Moon (14Taurus47), from November 21 through December 3, and the Saturn square to the Congress Sun (16Capricorn31), from December 13 through December 29, suggest ongoing frustration and obstructionism for much of the duration. There is one tiny window of opportunity during the week of December 6, however, when things might ease enough for some action. Venus will square the Congress Mercury (5Aquarius37), and Jupiter will semisquare the Congress Node (9Aquarius28) that week, while Saturn’s impact will be significantly weakened. On the other hand, through December 3, with Saturn quincunx the Congress Moon and transiting Mars square to transiting Uranus (December 1 through December 3), we can expect little more than dissention, anger, and gridlock.
