“I like villains because there's something so attractive about a committed person -- they have a plan, an ideology, no matter how twisted. They're motivated.”~ Russell Crowe

Last night I was feeling a bit of grumbling in my stomach, but not really hunger pains. I was feeling pretty good and a bit restless, that I played a video game that gave me some mental simulation. I am planning on renting a Wii for two days to see if I like how it works and if I could really use it to become more active, especially in the winter time, when I don't like to drive many places due to the snow and bad weather.

If I like it, I have calculated that I will be able to buy one next week, for only 199.00 plus tax. It will come with two games, one of the will be Sport's resort which I think I might like and it will help me be a bit more active at home, during the cold winter months.

It was a bit uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach last night, so I slept on my side most of the night. I know from previous fasts that laying on my stomach is uncomfortable for some reason. I probably think it is because of my liver and all the work it is doing.

I feel asleep a little after 11 p.m. and woke up around 1: 00 a.m. and again around 3:00 a.m. I woke up at 3:00 a.m as I could hear P. getting sick in the bathroom. He apologized for the loudness. I told him it was okay, I was more or less worried about him. It seems that his health has been going down hill for the last 6 or 7 months. I guess I don't know how severe it is, as he never tells me how he is feeling. He said that he had a tuna fish sandwich, just a couple minutes ago. At first, I thought it might be food poisoning, but he said it wasn't in his stomach long enough. It just didn't sit right on his stomach and it made him sick. He said his left underarm hurt, and he has a hard time raising it. He think it is the lymph nodes there that are giving him a problem. He doesn't go to the doctor because he can't afford it and he doesn't have insurance either. I feel for him, but I know how that is when I am sick, and I can't afford to go to the doctor. He has went to the ER a couple times, but they don't do anything for him. They just tell him to follow up with a doctor. A doctor that he doesn't have. Last night I noticed sometime last week as well as this week, that his skin gives off a nasty odor, which is hard for me to handle, now that my sense of smell is so acute. I know that when I am fasting, I give off a nasty odor, so now I am wondering if his skin is giving off this odor because he is really sick and it is coming out of his pores. It is scary to watch him feel so ill and such.

I am feeling a little off, which I usually do when I am about day 5 of my water fast. It is as if my body is really getting used to burning off fat and getting out of my system. I had a slight headache but it didn't last long.

Since I will have a short week next week due to Thanksgiving day (I have the 25th and the 26th off), which then will usher my vacation week in (November 28-December 4), I am trying to make plans to keep myself busy. If I like playing the Wii, I think I will buy one, so it will help me stay busy while I am at home. LOL

I noticed that I am able to walk more and more with out getting tired. I walked 2.5 miles yesterday and didn't realize it. LOL I am finding newer ways to keep myself busy, especially round lunch times and dinner times, so that I won't be tempted (which I was tempted a little bit last night) or questioned why I am not eating. My friend, Cecila, asked me over for Thanksgiving dinner, as she knows that I will probably be myself. I had to decline, which was hard, because I really do enjoy meals with friends, like Thanksgiving but I made a commitment to go forward with water fast, and I am going to continue it. I will eat again, so I shouldn't worry too much about it.

I am trying more or less to make sure after my fast, that do not fall back to the eating habits I had before. I did do some reading about carbs and how women have to watch their intake of carbs, more then men, because they can't burn them off as quickly as they can. Unless, I am very very active, which I am not, so I should limit myself to one serving of starchy carb a day. I have read having that starchy carb would be best if eaten during breakfast, so once I get into eating solids, and eating a carb or two, I think I would want to make it a whole wheat pita pocket full of veggies. I know that there is no starchy carbs in the Daniel diet or Eden diet, but sometimes a body does need a little bit so I think a baked potato or a pita pocket once in a while would be good for me.

I also read that one's metabolism takes up to 6 weeks to get back to normal, so after my fast, after I am off my specialized re-feeding diet, I will be really watching my serving sizes for up to 6 weeks, so that I don't over load my slow metabolism. I don't know how many entries I have read about people losing a bunch of weight and then going back to their normal eating habits, which causes them to gain all the weight back plus more. Not me! I am going to make sure that I watch my serving sizes when I do eat when I start eating again.

I never realized how most restaurants give you more then serving size. No wonder everyone is overweight and obese. First, most people eat poorly, i.e. Fast food, processed foods in cans and boxes and second, they don't normally eat the proper serving size. It is the thinking that more is better. I also think it is also, more for your dollar too. I didn't realize that most restaurants serve sometimes 2 or three times the serving size. I saw that first hand last week, when I was with my mother. I was the only one other then my grandmother that ate a proper serving size. She had a sandwich, so I think it was a serving size. I will have to check in the the serving size of a sandwich, made with regular bread. My mother had shredded pork and kraut, which was just heaping. I am sure there could have been at least 3 serving sizes on her plate. Yesterday, I read a pages in some healthy eating books, and saw how they took a T-bone steak and divided the meat into 5 different serving sizes! I would have never realized that a huge T bone steak had that many serving sizes. It really opened my eyes to how people eat, and how I have eaten for so long. My mother never taught me a serving size, while growing up. We just ate, and a meal consisted on a meat, a starch and a veggie. Now, my meals (when I consume meat)will consist of a healthy protein, i.e. Fish, chicken a veggie and a veggie (such as a steamed veggie and a small salad) as I saw in a lot of the healthier eating books I looked at while at the library.
