| Dear Friends, I'm so sorry that this has taken so long to get back with a personal Thank You, Asante sana. This is my life changing adventure with Jukumu Letu Center (Our Responsibility in Swahii.) I have become so involved with this project since I was last in contact with you. They kept a piece of my heart over in Nairobi. I went to the Center thinking that I was going to do the things I love, "do art, play and love the children". That was my plan. What it became was huge. I set up office systems. I helped the teachers, built a water tank, had shelves built, made and organized the medical cabinet (previously a cardboard box). Organized and organized. It is running so much better. I did have a little time to play with my babies. The women I've empowered by taken 100 pounds of yarn, buying more rabbit cages and a started a painting group. We empower mothers and caretakers by teaching them skills and organizing micro business groups. I started a dental program. They had never had toothbrushes before. I've also been in contact with the Dean of the Nairobi Dental School. She is going to start dental screenings for the children. Next, I'm going to get her to take care of the women and caretakers. Now, a little bit of the latest news. I could go on forever about this project. I have started a non-profit here in the U.S.. Corporate name is Our Responsibility, Inc. dba Jukumu Letu Center. We are looking for large and small donations. I know I'm on the right road because things just keep coming to me. Old friends and new friends keep showing up with ideas and money. I'm working with Staples, American President Lines, BP and more. I'm looking for any US companies that have locations or distribution centers in Kenya. If anyone has a contact, or a lead, or cash, please relay the information to me. We have the promise of having a 20 foot shipping container donated. We have to find donated shipping from Los Angeles/Long Beach to Mombasa, then trucking to Nairobi. We are buying property to build our own Center. Whoo hoo! Yes, it's getting huge. Dream big is what I always say. We are at our limit of 120 children and are renting the center, at this point. We have to buy and build. Another way to help is donating to the building fund. I return to Nairobi on November 17th of this year for three weeks. My daughter, Whitney, is coming to work with me. She's having a New York fundraiser on November 15 before she leaves on the 16th. I was so thrilled to come home to the U.S. in June and now I'm so thrilled to go back to see my new family and friends. Amazing where life takes you. A year ago when I was in Thailand, I would have never believed that I would be doing any of this. Please help in any way that you can, I appreciate it all. You have all helped in the past and I have seen the change in so many people's lives. Let's change some more. I have a public Facebook page that anyone can check out at www.facebook.com/JukumuLetu.
