"Joel Salatin Free to Enjoy the Fruits of His Labor" By Cathy Raymond. A testimonial at The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund

I agree!

Here's Joel Salatin's testimonial - a very good example of what I believe will give the awareness that I'm praying for (and especially in Southern California since the loss of one of our organic farms that unfortunately was not a member of FtCLDF)!

Thank you Joel, Cathy, Pete, Sally and all "foundations" of support that have been created for our farmers! We still need to get the word out so that FtCLDF is most familiar to every farmer who direct markets! I am asking now for additional ways that I can help more!

Thank you farmer Barry for the quality of life that you believed in - one that is unimpeded by public servants (who's first order of business is to protect the Rights of the people)! So many of us agree with you that food is a most fundamental Right on par with the Right to Life, and that farming is on par with the Right to Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. I think you know that the true nature of Rights is inherently free from regulation - otherwise they are not "Rights" but regulated privileges! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privilege

Every American can know and hold these fundamental Truths and thereby realize, preserve, protect and defend our sacred Liberty, honoring that which was purchased with many lives, fortunes and much more! So much has been given so that we can live in freedom (rather than in fear). I pray that the light of these "self-evident" truths shines into our hearts and minds illuminating every corner of darkness and confusion of what has been given us! "These Truths" have nothing to do with mere privileges!

American farmers who have the community in mind need to allow the community's support! Does that make sense? I'm talking about a relationship that is for the good of the farm! In such a relationship - when the farmer is attacked that attack impacts the community. Attacks need to be known by the community so the community can respond and support their Rights to food, etc. just as if the attack were in their own backyard! Now more than ever local farms need the full support of the community.

Although we are very blessed to have many local farms in Southern California (that will continue to provide us with wonderful food) the loss of Barry's farm is still a terrible loss! I am virtually always very careful about what I say and very rarely think things are tragic but the loss of this farm is tragic!

I regret that I wasn't able to defend the farm!
I am truly sorry!

I hope Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund becomes so well known among our local farmers that it's support is the first thing farmers think of when they are under attack.
