BARRY LOGAN
OF LA MILPA ORGANICA FARM, 2009
Barry has not been running his farm
as a business. The farm has fed 1000 of people
the finest of real food for seven years.
Farming is considered a business
and the way Barry has run the farm is
considered against the law.
His food growing practices,
growing real food, using with
the support of helpers working on the farm
and visitors from foreign hands,
is considered illegal.
The La Milpa Organica Farm shuts down
September 18, 2010.
September 18 for me is the Yom Kippur,
the Day of Atonement, when many Jewish people
fast. It would be right action for the world to fast
about the loss of this precious community resource.
Many are grieving in San Diego.
I am one of them.
Leslie
BARRY LOGAN ON PLASTIC FOOD
recorded in August 2010
He is one of our most eloquent teachers
about farming and expression of community.
This story is incomplete.
It is intended to point out
the incongruity in our system of justice
where real food farmers like
Barry Logan find it difficult to farm
under the current regulatory system.
Regulations will get worse of small farmers
with the passage of
the Food Safety Modernization Act
S-510 soon before congress.
I spent time with Barry Logan at
the Hillcrest Farmers' Market Sunday
September 5, 2010.
We did some filming.
He was reluctant to tell his story
on video.
He has broken laws in the eyes
of our regulatory system and is facing
still penalties that will drive him out of farming
at La Milpa Organica Farm.
He does not consider what he is doing their a business.
He is being fined for his position and the way he farms.

IN AMERICA 2010
FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION
is OUTSIDE THE DEFINITION OF
SAFE FOOD
Food Safety Modernization and Safe Food dod not talk
in the American Food System as the world came to its
senses around the time of the Jewish New Year 5757,
AKA September 8, 2010.
Keep The Beet Media Star, the M.C. of BEET KEEPERS, RETURN!
The Rock Your Soul Opera took this to heart.
Being One Beet. Many Pulses, she made plans to be
at Yom Kippur with the Children of Freedom at the Temple of the Book
in Simi Valley, CA, where Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener,
originator of the Plant Your Dream Blog on Curezone.com was scheduled
to feed the kids farm fresh local, organic, real food on the day
of Atonement when many in that traditon fast.
