Human, was the final performer at the
Pepper Tree Stage at Multi-Cultural Earth Day.
Following our Closing Ceremony, he planted
his Dreams in this beet pot. As the seed
grows, so does the dream. A gentle rain
began to fall.

A convergence of 80 or more joined in at the Closing Ceremony
at the Pepper Grove area of Balboa Park.
The Closing Ceremony was an offering from the
Multi-Cultural World Beat Center. Every year I do
a little closing, and this one was deep
and profound. I had everyone repeat
words to the poem, "Moment of Awakening"
from my book written in '87 called
"The Rebirth of Mother Earth."

Then Josiah sang a lovely song.
I passed around a bag of Foxfarm soil
telling everyone that this was a holy Torah;
soil is the equivalent of Mother Earth's womb
from where all seeds grow. I spoke of dreams
and how the earth needed each of us now.
I spoke of how we needed real food to fulfill our
destinies and complete our full self expression.

I passed around three fragrant roses
from the garden here
at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community,
located within walking distance of SDSU.

Rain fell moments after Human One Kindness, the final performer,
planted his Seed Dreams in a Keep The Beet Pot.

The Day began with multitudes of us enjoying
the San Diego Earth Fair. Close to 400 volunteered
and I helped Carolyn Chase get some of them.

Many--70,000-- spent time at the San Diego Earth Fair,
the largest Free Earth Day event in the nation;
many others spent time at the World Beat Center,
where first lady of San Diego Makeda Dread Cheetom
had three stages going until 7 PM,
including one at the Pepper Grove children's area
where the Closing Ceremony happened.

THESE ARE TIMES FOR THE GREAT EARTH CLEANUP

This is a powerful time of trial and testing
for many of us I am sure.

I lost my I.D., Iphone, ATM's Etc, ten minutes before the closing
ceremony. Before the rain began, I turned to the sky
and laughed grateful I had a new identity.

My health, earlier Sunday, was fragile.
I was tempted to come home midday to regroup
but took body risks, trusted, and stayed.

Passed up on my 45th High School Reunion
in LA on Saturday, an event I was looking forward to for
four years. I stayed home to write more
about Michelle Obama's historic visit,
to honor this Ceremony Work
and the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference
April 24-25 at San Diego State University.

WELCOME TO THE 2010 CULTIVATING FOOD

Mariah Hudson, Assistant Director, Center for Regional Sustainability at San Diego State University Higher Education | Greater San Diego Area

from the National known New Roots Garden in
City Heights. More than 1 million will be spend to help City Heights come up from bare bones poverty. The garden is the jewel of San Diego Community Gardens. This was made April 15 when Michelle Obama came
to San Diego to visit the IRC New Roots Garden.
Michelle Obama Said all eyes were on this plot of land.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED

The conference needs helpers to pull off
all we have and I have in mind.
Registrations are way up,
and the word is spreading these
final days like widfire around the San Diego
community.

ABOUT #s-510
THE (FDA) FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION ACT

[ Note: Keep The Beet Media Star and I
will be giving a 20 Minute Press Briefing
on #s-510 on Sunday Workshop Session
#4, 11:15 - 11:35 AM Workshop Session 4
(NOTE: twenty minutes only!!!!
Other workshop 4 sessions are 45 minutes.
I am going to the 1-10 workshop following
this important press briefing.

http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1606033
]

I got word yesterday that In Washington,
the passage of Food Safety Bill #s-510
The (FDA) Food Safety Modernization act,
is on the back burner again.
This gives more of us time to let our
wishes me known about this bill.
We want to make sure that we do
not harm one local organic farmer as we
attempt to regulate a contaminated system
of agriculture that harms millions daily.

This is our moment to solidify and reclaim
our food supply. Please come to the 2010
Cultivating Food Justice Conference this weekend.

RAJ PATEL KNOWS OUR GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS
http://www.facebook.com/RajCPatel?ref=ts

Raj Patel, our keynote, 2 PM, Saturday, has
been on the ground in India, Africa, and South
America. Landless women farmers, who call
themselves peasants--via compensena--
are asking to be recognized. Check out this
Video here. It shares what is going on:
http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1609567

There are food riots globally as food prices rise.
Where are we? We have no clue to the quality of
what we are eating. We have reached a moment
when only Super Organic food is fit for human
consumption. We need thousands upon thousands
more farmers and gardeners to survive this day
and thrive into a return to what was always intended
for our earth. Aina! Aina! Please, Sacredness for the
earth! We see you!

We do not need an earthquake here.
We are owning our inner earthquakes.
We are willing to come together this weekend
that you are dear Mother Earth might feel good
about the teamplay between us.

Please. Please, everyone.
Realize the crisis we are in and that
we can outgrown it by pulling together now.

So much is possible. Are you with us?

MAJOR GIFTS THIS WEEKEND
at the 2010 CULTIVATING FOOD JUSTICE
CONFERENCE at SDSU

Major gifts this upcoming weekend for you
at SDSU.

Michelle Obama has drawn the nation's eyes
toward San Diego as she reaches out and hugs
formerly displaced Somali's digging in the soil
in City Heights to help us rediscover our nation's soul.
Gardening and health will come to be seen as one
more and more, thanks to Michelle who I would call
now the an devoted advocate of Food Justice.

Government
is full of good works. Take the California Endowment
as an example. They have been partnering
with the New Roots Garden for numbers of years.
They are strategically giving 1 billion
or more to end poverty in California.
City Heights will receive more than 1 million
to outgrown poverty.

WRITE A NOTE TO MICHELLE
and HER HUSBAND

Have you a message ypu want to to
our First Family In Washington?
Have your photo taking on the same
Green Carpet backdrop that Michelle
was standing behind when she came
to San Diego! What a hoot.
Are you destined to be our next
senator?????

THEY SAVE THE DAY
Were there any honest people
at Earth Day, I wanted to know?

I misplaced my Fannie Pack
at the Earth Day Activities.
Was there an honest person
who found it I wondered?

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/I_D_Savedx.jpg

Dustin and friends found my I.D. in the bathroom
at the World Beat Center. I took it off when I went
to the bathroom. I clipped it to a rail and then
walked out without it. I realized I had misplaced it
15 mnutes before the start of the Closing Ceremony
I was to lead in the Pepper Grove area of Balboa Park.
I went back to look, and found it missing.
I led the ceremony giving no thought to my missing
I.D. When the ceremony was complete,
I asked Human One Kindness to plant his
personal Seed Dreams in a Keep the Beet pot.
He did so. Then, it began to rain.
I had already brought my umbrella, intending
that it would.

When the ceremony was over, I was alone,
I was appreciating others in the distance making Pray Arrows
with my friend Patricia of Hinchcliff Farms.
I started to laugh and began to look forward
to celebrating I would
be buying anew Iphone the next day.
The value of Nothing crossed my mind.

I went back to the World Beat Center without
any money, and asked one woman beyond
the counter if I might have some rice.
She said they were short of rice and did not
offer me any. I thought twice about that,
but let it go. Then I asked Makeda,
who came into the kitchen for rice and food.
She had other things on her mind, but
took time to serve me some. We go way
back. I call her "wife" and she calls me
husband.

I went into the other room, watching all
the people. I sat next to a mother with a child.
I was wondering in my head if there was
an honest person at the World Beat Center
who had my I.D. and fanny pack.
I left without even asking. I wrote out
a lost and found note and turned it in.

I went home. I was prepared to call Union Bank
to cancel all my ATM's, and cancel my Credit Card.

Some beet seeds feel out of my sacred basket to the floor
before I had time to call. I stopped. I picked up the seeds
first, and asked Angels to take care of me
while I was taking time to do first things first.

Then I went to my phone. There was a call from
Ira Erenberg, one of the two friends I wanted to
see at my 45th High School Reunion of all People.
Dustin, who found my wallet, called Ira, using
my Iphone. Ira had the phone number of Dustin.

There was $200.00 cash in my wallet that Ralph Bronner
of Bronner's Magic Soap had given me as a donation for my work,
when I saw him a month ago at the National Products Expo West.
The Bronner family does a ton of work for Fair Trade. Ralph
gave some money to have that a bumper sticker printed
that says CoExist, made of symbols of various religions and spiritual philosophies. There are the symbols of both the Moslems
and Jewish people making up the words. Ralph told me
that he gave away one thousand of those bumper stickers
in Palestine. Everyone wanted one. On the ground, many
people are open to being friends. The earth likes that.

I was thnking that maybe losing my I.D.
was a balance for any unfairness I had shown others
or crimes I had committed but not paid for.
There was something that felt good about
letting go of all my things.

I was celebrating my new I.D., celebrating
the new things I would be receiving.
I called Dustin. I went down to meet him and his
buddies and a daughter of one. It was after 10 PM
when I got my fannie pack back. I gave them some
of my love poems as a gift. We stood around
talking for about twenty minutes. I invited them
all to the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference.
