MORE ABOUT THE BUCK STOPS
HERE

Harry S. Truman once had a sign
on his desk that said: "The Buck Stops Here!"
He took responsibility. He wasn't
into passing the buck. We are in a moment
in time, when we are each called forth to
be leaders, to not pass the buck.

WELCOME TO EARTH WEEK

So where are we now?
We are in an extended Earth Week
that began with the visit of First Lady
Michelle Obama to the New Roots Urban Garden
April 15. Earth Week ends April 25.

We are in a historic moment of events
in the world and in our personal lives.
We are each being asked to step up to the plate
and say, "The Buck Stops here!"
We are each being asked to go
beyond living as an earthquake
waiting to happen, to live
our lives beyond being a natural disaster.

ONE MORE MEANING
FOR "THE BUCK STOPS HERE!"

I offer Props to the many
individuals and Food Groups in San Diego
who are volunteering long hours to bring together
our communities. We are a powerful movement now
that will solidify by April 25.

San Diego. We were a birthing site
for the Holistic Movement of the 80's
and for the Integrative Medicine Movement
of the 2000's.

We have always been a center of food growing
naturally, and now we are coming together
to address the issues that the world is asking
for, not only for its survival but for its fulfillment.

The 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference
is a rooting of all foundations of healthy living
that have been pulled out from the ground.
This conference will bring focus to people's call
everywhere, hearing the call of the majority
of people who do not even know that something
about food is broken now, and asked to be
mended.

All People Deserve Good Food, and more.

Come be a part of the planting.

We are One Beet.
Many Pulses.

Barack Obama said,
"Show me the movement.
Make me do It!"

Now is our time.
All people deserve good food,
both locally and everywhere.

THE BUCK STOPS HERE

The food groups of San Diego care so much
about you personally and the future of food
in our city, that they are saying
"The Buck stops here!" The 2010 Cultivating Food
Justice is a free event. Free breakfast. Free Lunch.
Free Child Care. Free smiles. New friends.

RAJ PATEL IS THE KEYNOTE SATURDAY

If tickets were being sold
for the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference,
I would place the value
at no less than $200.00 a person. Raj Patel,
is an internationally acclaimed Speaker on the
Global Food Crisis. Raj is on the ground in
India, Africa, South America, He speaks
up for peasant farmers and women everywhere.
He is a gift to humanity, a model citizen,
a caring husband.

Look at our world, dear friend.
Conditions are urgent now.
We all need the information that will be so freely given
April 24-25 at SDSU.

This is our time. This is our moment.
The very food we take for granted and buy
at O.B. People's Food is real and rare.

Few around the world
get what we can easily take for granted.
Many more of our people, will need you
to reach out to them after our conference
to tell them what you learned.
It is up to each of us to show up every day
of Earth Week and say,
"The buck stops here!" all week
and every day of this week.

Can you hear me?
I see you.
I like what I see.

Leslie Goldman
Your Enchanted Gardener
Just one of many who are here to serve.
