I'm (rather my lawyer is) negotiating a deal with the D.A.

It is not possible to continue here without being in violation.
The mandated water cuts that limit
growing space also influenced
my thought process in arriving at a decision to
discontinue operations here,

Last week at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market,
I planted a seed for Barry Logan, of the
La Milpa Organica Farm Community.
He was going before a magistrate last Monday.
I have not yet heard the results.
I blogged about Barry Logan earlier in the week
and posted some Video on the Facebook site.
At the time, Barry Logan told me he was
not going to be a keynote speaker at the upcoming
2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference.
He is. Barry Logan is going to be the Sunday
Keynote at the 2010 Cultivating Food Justice Conference
at SDSU, April 24-25, 2010. He speaks on Sunday.
Raj Patel speaks on Saturday at 2 PM.
I will get Barry's time for you soon.
Something came up in that video with Barry.
He was expressing the idea that the kind of farmer
he was doing, where apprentices are illegal,
was outside the current regulatory system for commercial
farms. To class La Milpa Organica Farm as a commercial operation
is a good point. THe kind of care he gives to his soil
for one thing is a spiritual act. This is saying a lot
for this farmer who is more an anarchist than a religionist,
but the love he and his community gives to the land,
as he discusses in this video we made last week,
borders on the divine.
Back to the point:
Barry brought up the words peasant farming with me.
I never heard the concept.
Today it came up twice.
I heard Paj Patel bring up the concept in this
Video here.
This led me to another site
where the movement that Raj Patel,
and Barry Logal reference is mentioned.

Here we go again,
down the Rabbit hole.
2010 Food Justice Conference will be a hot ticket.
Be sure to sign up early for the two day event that
is billed as Free. Donations, I imagine will be accepted
to support the good works of conference non=profit
underwriters.
