Had some great meetings last night at
the Organic Center VIP Dinner, a fundraiser event.

So glad to spend time with Gary Hirshberg.
I have been missing contact in recent years.

Also spent time with Walt Robb, the co-founder
of Whole Foods Market. He introduced me to
Dr. Ralph Sorenson,
who is professor Emeritius
at University of Colorado Boulder
and involved with Whole Foods Market leadership.

Ralph was a big healer for me last night.

He listened to what I was saying with Robb
and then say that I belonged in Washington.

That is what I have been thinking as well and writing
about of late.

I have been deeply involved in some of the food issues
on the hill, of late the GE alfalfa issue and soon
s-510 The Food Safety Moderization Act going before
the Senate. I am not happy with the progress that
the Organic Center has made with the Mission Organic.

I planted seeds with my friend Anthony Zolezzi years ago
when he first brought up the idea of having the nation
go 10% organic by 2010. There was no mention
of that goal last night or that this is 2010, the year
for 10%. I understand that last night's event was a fundraiser,
but we need to do a reality check.

My allies at Monsanto seem to be doing really great
with their goals. they have close to 90% bioteech crops
in certain foods. We are just around 3% organic.
What is up with that?

I offered my photos to Dr. Charles Benbrook, the lead
scientist for the Organic Center. When their book "Core Truth"
came out, I was very disappointed in the photos. They
already had my photography available.

One picture is worth 1000 words. That book could have
done more.

I will look at it again. Maybe I am being too harsh.

My have a plan that I want to give a talk on organic
agriculture at an upcoming BIO conference. I enjoyed
attended BIO very much when they were in San Diego
in 2008. One of the lead scientists from Murdock U in
Australia enjoyed a visit after the show with me.
We went to Whole Foods Market, the Farmers Market,
and my garden at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.
We had a ball. Ralf's Seed Dream was to go salsa dancing.
I hooked him up with a friend, an very sharp M.D. woman
who loved to dance. They had a great time.

Permaculture as well as Biotech subjects are both taught
at Murdock U in Australia. Rolf knows both.

Walt Robb and Ralph Sorensen gave me a lot of support
for the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Food i have initiated.
Gary was also very supportive and I feel we get behind
the project.

Anthony felt my intensions were noble. He has also traveled
a lot and is headed to South America today where he sees
a lot of rain forces damage. I got a sense that he felt
Biotech Ag was part of this damage.

Anthony is open to meeting with some of my new
Monsanto allies.

I am planting a seed for that dialogue to happen between
Anthony and Robert Fraley, the father of biotech agriculture.

Robert Fraley plantred a seed with me toward
lessening the tension between GMO and Organic lovers.

I can see Robert speaking at the Natural Product expo West.
i also see myself, as I said, speaking at Bio.

I have a lot of blogs here that I wrote about my incredible
experiences at the American Association for the Advancement
of Science (AAAS) annual meeting.

That is where I met Robert Fraley.

I talked to Dr. Alan Greene last night about
his speaking at the AAAS. I want to talk to
Chuck Benbrook, the lead scientist of the Organic Center,
about that too. What is up with this?

I just do not get it.
The only organic folks i met at the AAAS were
behaving like they were undercover.

Is our science for real? Why is it not on the stage
of the AAAS. I liked listening to what Robert Fraley
had to say about increasing crop productivity by 2030.
So what are the organic ideas about that?

This needs to be part of our dialogue.

I am going to talk to Fred Linder, the President of New Hope
today about inviting Robert here.

Robb Walt was very supportive of my plan to speak at BIO.
In the back of my head, if my health is up to it,
I may go to this year's BIO to get that seed more firming rooted.

KEEP The BEET enjoyed BIO as well. We planted to meet with
the Gov of Ca, but I missed my signals. I did some work for
the government of Argentina while he was speaking, and got
sidetracked. Everything turned out O.K. The ambassador
from Argentina liked by photos. I gave him one of my
love poems. He needed some female companionship and I knew
my poem, intended to be read to a loved one, would help.

I will catch up with you on all this.

Have a great day.

Leslie
