Keep the Beet morphs into an inspired philosopher in a draft to her next column for the "Space of Love" Magazine.

I have been watching Leslie, Your Enchanted Gardener, going cold turkey in the last few days. One of the "natural" supplements he uses may be unavailable for a few weeks. He is near out, and so he is not taking any. He had no idea how dependent he has become on this add on. He is needing to rest more. I admit I have been running him ragged, asking him to chauffeur me around in the E.G. Mobile, our 68 VW Van. We just got back from the American Association for the Advancement of Science
(AAAS0 Annual meeting, and then I asked him to take me to the California Small Farm Conference. Leslie has also been teaching science classes
to our teens, where he is called "Uncle Leslie."

We are in a real food emergency, and I did not let Leslie slow down and have his winter. We were going full speed ahead even before our orange trees blossomed here at the Enchanted Garden Intentional Community.

Most of my fans reading this column by your Czarina of Foods could be living more according to the teachings of Anastasia. We are all moon dependent. We are sun dependent. We are earth and soul dependent.

These principles have become foreign concepts to most of us,
including your favorite Media Star, Keep the Beet here.
Many of us take it for granted that is it more than O.K. it live on drugs and natural supplements. I confess that even I have been radically
influenced down to my genes by additives. In my dire need,
I have been thinking twice of going in for some genetic engineering.

Most of us have no clue how we really feel.
Many of us would be instantly dead if our pharmacy went out of business.
We no longer understand that herbs and foods are our still our medicines
just as they gave been since day one.

I am not anti drug, I am pro soil. I breathe easier when my favorite farmers
add some fertilizer but I do not want to fool myself into
the false belief that supplements are the key to my good health.

Only correcting our lifestyle is going to make a difference
in getting grounded, only taking time to build up the soil of your
being. One way to extend life on earth is to
adopt some kind of program of balanced living.

Takw your shoes and socks off and walk on the earth, I have been
asking you all to grow a beet in a pot, to keep the beet, and eat the greens.
The greens will keep growing, and so will you in your earth awareness.
I am asking you to have a moment of awakening. Know your grower.
Garden. Get to know the farmer growing the rest of your food.

This is still my program for beginners, but now I am asking something more of you. Put some seeds in the ground. Claim the earth as your home.
There is more to the soil that you imagine. The soul and the earth
are soilmates.

The Farmer today is discounted. We think we can get by without
the farmer. The farmer is a doctor of the soil. Doctors are intended to be guides and friends. Giving support to our local farmers who are growing food as close to the way nature intended is my program for you. Growing some of our own food, even one beet in a pot, is essential so you regain your beat with nature. We all need to do more that merely “Survive This Day.” We
are here to thrive. The real thrivers grow some of their own food.

Growing one beet in a pot can make you a gardener, if you take in and
Keep the beet to the depth of what I have in mind. Keep the beet, my friend. I’ll be talking to you. There is only “one” beet, and one Space of Love, and I am everywhere. See you in the garden.
