LESLIE: I want to create a dlalogue where we lessen the tension
between Science, Ethics, and Food, and just start listening
to one another. Would you support that?
A.G. KAWAMURA: ...Absolutely.
You just mentioned exactly where we are, Science and Ethics, and the
philosophies of how we bring those all together has always been
a part of where.. agriculture... (we are at] }crossroads..a bridge... between the two...in many ways.
LESLE: Well, let's work on that together.
A.G. KARAMURA; I would be happy too.

A.G. Kawamura, the California Secretary of Agriculture
sat down with Leslie Goldman, Your Enchanted Gardener,
at the recent California Small Farms Conference 2010
at the February 28, March 1 & 2 at the San Diego Marriott.
A.G. Kawamura, in this video clip lends his support
toward a Diaglogue on Science, Ethics, and Food
inititated at the recent American Association for the Advancement
of Science (AAAS) 2010 Annual Meeting in San Diego
March 18-22.
Dr. Robert T. Fraley, Ph.D.. the American Father of Agricultural Biotechnology,
also gave his support to lessen the tension between GMO and Organic
Lovers.
Secretary Kawamura has been secretary for seven years now.
He recently came back from Copenhagen for the Climate Conference.
He is a very likeable man. I told him I wanted to start a campaign
to have him be the Secretary of Agriculture under the next governor
of California as well. He said he was looking forward to returning
to farming full time. He farms in Orange County with his family.
I felt very inspired by A.G. Kawamura. I watched him give quality
listening to a small farmer who was hurting.
I want to visit him at his farm in Orange County.
Dr. Robert T. Fraley, Ph.D., the Father of
Agricultural Biotenchnololgy, Leslie, and Tami Craig
Schilling, head of Public Affairs for the Monsanto
company met at the recent American Association
for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) 2010 Conference
March 18-22, 2010 at the San Diego Cpnvention Center.
Getting to know each other is a beginning stage of
dialogue, I believe.
The idea for a Dialogue was inspired a few days before I met
Dr. Robert T. Fraley. I attended a reception
for the a Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion
at the AAAS Conference. They are building a bridge
between Science and Faith Communities.
There is a lot of tension now between
GMO and Organic Lovers, and and many other points
of view that I feel is not helping get to the
basic issues that need to be discussed.
I approached Dr. Fraley with the idea of lessening
the tension between GMO and Organic Lovers. I showed
him the Art I did the night before.
This Art Here:
Dr. Fraley said he liked where I was coming from.
"Let's close the gap," he wrote to me in a note.
We planted Seeds toward that intention in
a small sugar cane compost Friendly pot,

Plant Your Dream Blogs on the recent AAAS meeting
in San Diego.
The Beet Keepers function as a non-profit and aim
to help each person regain their beat with Nature through
planting beet seeds or repotting a fully growing beet
in a pot.
Here is a description of the KEEP The BEET project.
It is now expanding.

From the BROOK LARIOS story
in the EXAMINER, June 3, 09
“I’m playing with the story of an actual beet
that decided she was tired of just sitting
in the ground, watching the human race
become more and more fragmented,
and the beet, whose name is Keep the Beet,
decided to speak up,” said Goldman,
also known to friends as The Enchanted Gardener.
Keep the Beet encourages people to make friends
with a local, organic farmer; purchase the largest beet
they can find and repot it, keeping it alive
as it sprouts billowing, edible green leaves.

Leslie loves local, organic food, and moves more
healthy dialogue. He has friends in every branch
of agriculture. He was given a U..N. Peace Medal in
1984 for the work he would do in his life.
As a blogger, he attended the 2008 BIO
Biotenchnology Industry Organizaion Conference
in San Diego, and most recently the Associaition
for the Advancement of Science Conference.
"We all need to be open to each other. We
are in agriculture because we love food
and want to feed the world. I make friends
where ever I go. Leslie inspired the book
"The Ultimate Gardener. The book is dedicated to him.
Charlie Nardozzi, a consultant to Michelle Obama
on the White House Organic Garden Project
is listed as the author of that book.
Another favorite book of his is
"Mendel in the Kitchen," by incoming
AAAS president Dr. Nina Federoff.
The book describes a scientists support
for GMO Foods. It is a great takeoff point
of looking at the issues I want to discuss
in our Dialogue on Science, Ethiics, and Food
that is beginning here on the Plant Your Dream Blog.
