LAX, the HILTON, was one of my stomping grounds
in the 80's. I was there while they were building
the annex.

That was the WHOLE LIFE EXPO where we had
an earthquake during the show. I believe,
as I feel into it, it was during YOM KIPPUR,
the Jewish DAY OF ATONEMENT.

I heard there were waves in the pool that could
be seen outside our upper story window.

I never woke up. AMATRA BARBARA MAY,
who may have been a resident at the time
of the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY
in SAN DIEGO, my current resident,
was in the room.

The word got out that "Leslie, doesn't wake up
for earthquakes below 6.0."

AT THE WHOLE LIFE EXPO

The Whole Life Expo's were the premiere shows
of the 80's in Los Angeles. They expanded to other cities.
There was a time when the show was a cornerstone
of my love, a place where we held our Soul Group Reuniions.

i cut my teeth on doing Ceremony Work at the Whole Life Expo.

THE PRESENCE OF THE CLOSING CEREMONY

The Closing Ceremony at the WHOLE LIFE EXPO EXPO
had a precarious existence. It was the part of the show
that was a "Give Away." It was a Free Event in a show
that was increasingly bevoming more and more pay for
each workshop. I would from time to time teach
free classes on the Essenes and other topics, but I never
taught a paid workshop.

The Closing Ceremony was likely one of the best
investments that the owners ever made.
It was pure inspiration. It took the three day
energy of the show and lifted it out of LAX,
or the PASADENA CONVENTION CENTER,
our other primary Whole Life Expo Venue.

There was the Whole Life Expo, and then
there was the Whole Life Expo that I attended.
Through the Cosing Ceremony, they became
one in the minds of those who attended the Closing.

Most people never knew how hard I had to work
to have an Closing in the show. My favorite
program director was SHIRIN STRAUSS. She
was also the editor for the WHOLE LIFE TIMES.
One of my poems ended up in the paper,
as well as a bio of my book REKINDLING OF FAITH
under her editorial leadership.

I stopped going to the Whole Life Expo
before the show collapsed in L.A.
I did not feel the work I was doing there
was appreciated.

I have not been back to LAX in numbers of years.

A beautiful lady reached out and touched
my hand at last year's NATURAL PRODUCT EXPO
WEST.

She recognized me from the WHOLE BEING WEEKEND,
another event in So Cal that I have attended
since the early 80's.

I have not felt too much energy for the
CONSCIOUS LIFE EXPO until this year.

The lady who touched my hand
was ELIZABETH WINTER, the ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
of the show.

I am a suc*** for love.
