I am still under the influence of
the HOARDERS Videos I watched
Monday night.

I had a radical personal experience
with hoarding when I helped my father
cleanup for a number of days at the end
of the summer before last. This came after
struggling for years with our own basement
here at the ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY.

I and others had allowed a Hurculean task,
the cleanup of an accummulation of stuff
that was extremely unhealthy.

I have lived in the same house since the early
80's, and having a basement, an attic, and a large
backyard has not given a lot of room to accummulate.

I was not sure if it would ever be possible to
clean that basement but we did it. It was a
massive effort.

There are two people with hoarding tendencies
living here, Anna and myself.

Most of the things from the basement went into the
backyard. Areas were labeled. Area A, B, C, D, E.
D and E were my areas.

E was formerly the Healing Area with a massage table.
That was loaded up with things. Area D was packed
with my things between the summer of 2008 where
I spent many days into the evening throwing out things.

It was slow going and disorienting.

My life is in sync with universal flows. There is often
great power behind the things I do or intend.

Day by day as others, including CHEF JEM, SCOTT, and
ANNA worked on the basement, I would be working
under the Olive Trees as the olives feel.

Day by day as I worked, the project took on epic
dimensions, and I deemed it the GREAT EARTH CLEANUP.

Day by day as I worked, I would listen to the radio
under the Olive Tree. A big part of the world was also
being asked to come to its senses. Washington was being
asked to clean up its own act. The economy was spiraling
downward as I was cleaning up.

I could only take the project so far.
After my own cleanup, I got word from EVA my niece
that my father had a fire in his apartment in Los Angeles.

I went up to help. That was my first experience
personally dealing for more than five days with a bonafide
hoarder.

The accummulations were no less than those in the
videos you can see online in the HOARDER show.
I went in with a camera. It was in some sense an
Art Project. I could not believe my eyes.

I just spent about 30 minutes attempting to find
old blogs I wrote in Septemner 08 on cleanup at my
father's house. I am not able to access previous pages.
There is some kind of error.

I do not want to take time to work on this now.
