Stayed in last night.
Thought to go out
but decided at the last minute
to stay home.
Make more progress on Finances.
I am near done...I hope.

Made a list just now of the
things I can do for Joy and Pleasure
during the next month
that are totally dependent on me
being in the drivers seat of my life.

One of the first things I want to do
in the morning before the FM
is make a draft of a new flyer for the
Tour of the Hillcrest FM, Sunday...
what is the date???

Hey Everyone!

Had a great planning meeting tonight and got almost all the basic logistics out of the way. Note that Mariah, Anita and I are on a lot of the items below so if you weren't at the meeting tonight and still want to help out, there's lots of help needed! All the details below are tentative. Please emai me (as I'll be the website updater for this) with details as you confirm them. Contact your co-sponsor, venue and make sure everything is cool. We have some flexibility but would like to nail down as much as we can by the weekend so we can begin promotion (Growing Places on Aug 1st would be a good starting event for promotion via word of mouth if not fliers). Here's what we came up with for the schedule

Sunday, August 23rd:
1-2pm Leslie Goldman will give a guided tour of the Hillcrest Farmer's Market

evening (time TBD): Local Iron Chef: Co-sponsored by Slow Food Urban San Diego, Anita to find venue and coordinate with local celebrity chefs and Ian to help find judges. Mariah and Ian to help source produce (including the secret ingredient)

Monday, August 24th:
Time TBD, probably around 7pm : Mariah to host canning food preservation workshop at either Wellness Center or City Farmer's, co-sponsored by Senior Gleaners
** Possible switch with Thursday, Mariah and Marc may swap nights

Tuesday, August 25th:
Time TBD, probably around 6pm : Mariah and Anita to plan cooking event (Stump the Chef) at Art Institute. They'll take produce from CSA boxes (since pickup is Mon/Tue for most people) and the cooks at AI will have to improvise. Co-sponsored by AI and possibly a couple CSA farms?

Wednesday, August 26th:
Time TBD, probably 6pm : Joann to host movie night (movie selection TBD) at a county building on Rosecrans (Joann, please email me the address if you confirm the venue), co-sponsored by Activist San Diego

Thursday, August 27th:
Time TBD, probably around 7pm : Mark to host fermentation workshop at either Wellness Center or City Farmer's, co-sponsored by some microbrewing enthusiast group (Anita has a contact)
** Possible switch with Monday, Mariah and Marc may swap nights

Friday, August 28th:
Support your local restaurant night (need a better name for this). Provide a list of local-friendly restaurants and encourage people to eat there. Co-sponsor Roots, ideally get participating restaurants to give 5% of sales to FNL/Roots. Mariah and Ian to lead

Saturday, August 29th:
Noon : Ian to host composting workshop at City Heights Farmers' Market, co-sponsored by Victory Gardens

4pm : Tomato/Herb tasting event - Paul would you be willing to do this at City College again? co-sponsored by IRC
