GROWING PLACES
THE FIRST EVER, AUGUST 1 2009
A CELEBRATION OF SAN DIEGO’S FOOD AND AN EXPLORATION OF CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THE SYSTEM
Everyone is invited to join San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project on Saturday, August 1 2009 for a festival benefit raising money for our future farm and education center. The night is packed full of activities and events and it’s bound to be great fun!

Advance Tickets!
Tickets are $10 at the door. Alert! You can purchase pre-sale tickets for $7 starting Wednesday July 22 through Friday July 31. Jay Porter from the Linkery and Bill Tall from City Farmers Nursery are gracious to host pre-sale to Growing Places. Stop by and give support to these two important and excellent businesses in our community:

The Linkery, 3794 30th St at North Park Way in North Park 92104
Friday–Sunday: noon–11:30pm, Monday–Thursday: 5:30–11:30pm

City Farmers Nursery, 4832 Home Avenue at Euclid in City Heights 92105
Monday–Saturday: 9am–5pm, Sunday: 9am–3pm

Silent Art Auction!
A silent auction of food+farm themed art will be showcased for bidding throughout the night, ending at 9:30pm. Artists and Makers from all over the county are making art for this show and donating it to raise support for Roots’ farm project. The more the better, and you are invited to make art for the show! The deadline is July 30. Art can be any style, media or function, as long it has a theme of food and/or farm and/or garden. Contact em at em@sandiegoroots.org or julia at julia@sandiegoroots.org to give art. Buying a piece of art at Growing Places is a good opportunity to celebrate and support San Diego’s community, and take home a great piece of artwork!
