When things are not working,
return to what works.

Have you noticed a few things
that could be working these days
just a little tiny bit better?

I definitely have.
I can see some improvements needed
both in the narrow places
where I feel a bit cut off from
the flow of life. I see improvements
as well I want to recommend
on national and grobal levels.
We need readjustment
in the Systems we are Banking on,
in the places where we are investing
our lives.

DR BERNARD JENSEN called himself a nature boy.
He knew how to KEEP The BEAT
with nature. He knew that in growing
locally grown organic BEETS and other foods
in his garden, he could improve not only his
own health,but the health of more than
350,000 patients.

JBJ as he is identified
in some of the transcriptions that are in the
ENCHANTED GARDEN INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY
library, was and will always be my Spiritual Father.

I helped him over the years in a number of ways
and he helped me.

One day, I was riding down the hill from
the Old HIDDEN VALLEY HEALTH RANCH toward
Escondido, the Ranch where you too can still
go today and have your own healing adventure.

I was turning a phrase in my head
from rereading the book SURVIVE THIS DAY (1976).
Book Three in the MAGIC SURVIVAL KIT we put
together for these Exact Times.

I was deeply appreciating the wisdom
that was going through my head, some
sentence in the book. Then all of sudden,
it dawned on me, I wrote that sentence,
the whole idea came out of my head!

JBJ and I were a pair in a number of ways.
We were a comedy act. He would come
into the Barn--the old lecture hall
located at the Ranch.

He had been severely overworking, from a long day of
extreme visits with patients at his Ranch office.
This day would come right after Friday,
when he returned from seeing patients at
his Los Angeles office. He had a habit
as well of staying up late. He lead a double
or maybe a triple life. He would read
and study in the quiet of the night in
his enormous health library.

When he spoke at the ranch,
he always came in late. He was more
exhausted than he knew.
Being an Aries, he rammed his way
to one more naturally flowing and
highly inspiring moment of Giving.

He would enter in high intention.
Everyone anticipated his entry. They would clap.
Some of those people in the room
had only one hand to use to clap.
The other arm might have been hurting.
They had come to the end of the
road, The Last Resort.

Dr. Jensen then lifted them.
He uplifted them.

He always began by saying,
"I feel wonderful!" He convinced
himself. He had to begin this way.
Then he would go into auto pilot.
He had an enormous twinkle in his eye.
He was highly charismatic.

He used Iridology and nutrition in combination
to identify what people needed, but
in truth, just a moment with the man
was enough to spark an entire room,
an entire health movement in our nation.
It was his bedside manner, among all
his traits, that singled him out as
a Model Doctor for These Times
of Economic and Health Recovery.

I lived with him at the Ranch in those days.
Those days began for me right out of college
1972.

I would be sitting in the room,
that old lecture hall.

At some point, he would finish
his talk. He would say,
"Does anyone have any questions????
He would look around, and say instantly...
"No questions." He said this as a joke.
I would say, "I have a question!"
Then, he would say, "You always have
a question!" Then, there would be laughter.

It was our running routine, we played
those lines out often.

In later years, I would show up at
conferences where he was speaking,
sometimes a hundred miles or so
from that old Barn.

He would see me from a distance
from the stage. He always singled
me out. He would tell the story
of how I was once crippled, and how
he carried me from bed to bed.

He would sometimes mention
the Essenes because he knew we were
both in that soul group lineage. It mattered
to him that Edmond Bordeaux Szekely
had acknowledged that lineage in me.
He liked that I became an Essene minister.
Sometimes, he would tell a story about
how much I had done with my life
in spite of those early problems.

He would call me "Boy"
from the stage. This I found
annoying, but never said anything.
Sometimes, he called me "Pal."
I may have called him Pal, too,
or just "Doc." Through the years,
there are times, I call others Pal.
It is something I picked up from him
without thinking. He is part of me,
in my blood.

I could tell stories for ever
about this man, who was so
very hard on himself, who so deeply
is loved by our earth and so many people
around the world.

His birth certficate read
March 25, 1908. His death certificate
February 9, 2001 (I have to check that date....).
but this is a man that represented principles
that can not possibly ever die,
althought they are hurting today
to be remembered.

The Principles of Health and Long Life in him,
that spoke through him, were so huge.
There are aspects of his life and teachings
that are as big as life itself.

The teachings that he spoke, he did not make up.
He merely went out looking to find evidence
in people and nature that they were real and true.
The things he learned, he learned from the elders
of his day. He was a relentless student. He
was possessed by knowledge, and the application
of that knowledge through experience;
That, my friend, is Wisdom.

He studies throughout life with M.D.'s, Medical
Doctors of a different kind then we find prevailing
today. He studied with doctors who did not
collect $65.00 for 10 minutes work without giving you
$650.00 worth of lifetime direction.
This was a man who was
an educator. He taught people how to Fish for
themselves. He recommended lifestyle shifts.
Each patient had to do the work for themselves.

Outside his office was a sign.
"You are looking for a good doctor.
I am looking for a good patient."

This is a very special day.
It is the last day of the eight day celebration
called Passover that comes this year a few days
after Easter Sunday, a time when many of us
are drawn to the Spirit of Resurrection.

Passover is about living in a way where
the Angel of Death passes by,
but cannot touch us.
Easter is a confirmation of Eternal Life.
Passover is about coming out of stuck places
and choosing freedom.
Easter is about flowers in the desert blossoming.

Dr. Bernard Jensen celebrated flowers
blooming.

He thrived on the love he received back
from blossoming people. This was his fuel.

He taught a Balanced Daily Living Regimen
that appears in
HEALTH MAGIC THROUGH CHLOROPHYLL
THROUGH LIVING PLANT LIFE (1972).
This Balanced Living Regimen
appears again in a booklet called
The NEW AMERICAN FOOD PROGRAM,
One of My Greatest Discoveries.

He was a man who eventually broke
down because he broke the rules he taught.
He was also a man who broken down,
came back to Life time and again
from the extremes of Cancer, from
the helplessness of paralysis from the
waist down. And this he did at a time
of life when many of us are already in the grave.
