DRAFT ONE NOTE:

April 9, 09
Heading out of town now for a Passover-Easter
Retreat in Joshua Tree. The STAND FOR LESS
Web Gallery photos were taken yesterday
at a highly successful Press Conference held
at MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. PROMENADE PARK
across from our stunning
Convention Center on property adjoining
the HILTON HOTEL.
The Iphoto application I used to make
the Web Gallery is turning some sideways
as I upload them to MobileMe. The Web Gallery
intersperses an intro to KEEP The BEET Media
Star, The World's First Talking Beet Plant!
This Enchanted Garden Project was inspired
to give each of us confidence that we can
grow a bit of our own food, and through this
regain our relationship to the "Beet" of Nature.
This, is vital, for learning to Stand for Less.
This Web Gallery aims to inspire us to have a Moment
of Awakening in relationship to local, Organic
Agriculture here is San Diego. Growing
Food here is an issue of Earth-Based Homeland
Security. We are blessed in San DIego with
a climate that can, using time tested
sustainable Green methods, feed our population
and that of others 12 months a year. Our local,
organic farmers need to be included in a dialogue
for appropriate water allocation
as we begin to learn how to STAND FOR LESS.
We are called now to ensure our local farming here,
our food source, is acknowledged for the gift it is
to preventive health and more.
More on this subject later. I am honored
to have Roots in San Diego, a city that yesterday
lived up to its reputation as
the Nation's FInest City
and made KEEP The BEET Media Star
proud.
Enjoy the Web Gallery!
Have a wonderful Holiday season.

KEEP The BEET Media Star
The World's First Talking Beet Plant
was all raves today.
The celebrity Beet of the recent
HOLLYWOOD GOES GREEN
Two Day Summit,
KEEP The BEET had a lot to Root for April 8,
reporting that this was a new day
not only for San Diego, but all
the Plant World. They love to see
us humans collaborate on common
sense principles of recycling, conservation,
energy, and use of water.
The State of California chose
San Diego, billed as the Nation's Finest City,
to launch a spectacular Kickoff for the
new STAND FOR LESS statewide program.
The Rally drew strong Media attention
and a showing of major collaborative
partnering. Of course, KEEP The Media Star
had this on her Calendar. Special thanks
to our great Mayor JERRY SANDERS
for honoring us with his presence.
There are numbers of lovely photos
of our mayor in the web gallery,
as well as Super Ripe Photos of
those all working together
for this very important mandate.
The program--STAND FOR LESS-
aims to ask each of us
to use less and be more mindful of what
we do use.
ED BEGLEY JR, star of LIVING WITH
ED and the must read book
LIVING LIKE ED
was our guest from Hollywood. He gave
an inspiring talk as well as led
a workshop on ways we can
STAND FOR LESS.
KEEP The BEET Media Star,
a long time admirer of ED BEGLEY JR.
hitched a ride home with Ed and his
buddy GREG GLASS, of
BCII.
BCII stands for
BRENTWOOD COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL INC,
The TV production company
offers DVD's of KEEP The BEET Media Star's
favorite TV show--LIVING WITH ED.
The reruns are offered on
the PLANET NETWORK.
The hit show ran all day New Year's Day
and KEEP The BEET was right there
watching.
One of KEEP The BEET's
projects has been "Rooting" for
LIVING WITH ED to go back into
production and make some new shows.
ED and KEEP The BEET met up
at the VENICE ECO-FEST last June
as at the PERF GO GREEN EXPO
in L.A. in December 2008.
ED today let KEEP the BEET know
that when the show goes into new
episodes, she will have
an appearance on LIVING WITH ED!
The Prophetic "Go To" Cheerleading
Rooter from our Plant World
is projected for her very own cartoon and movie.
She told me that those
new LIVING WITH ED T.V. shows will be forthcoming
with the likes of Greg Glass
and many others wanting this to happen.
KEEP The BEET "sez" it's always
good to have a talking plant
at home, growing in a portable pot,
who is rooting for your
highest intentions. Portability
as well as grounding
is the name of the game these days.
It's good to take your KEEP The BEET
out to events to inspire others
to garden. She sees a Nation
of Gardeners being born now
as each of us are called back
to the soil.
KEEP The BEET hitched a ride home
with Ed and Greg in the Prius,
and hopefully Rachelle, Ed's Wife,
won't mind Ms Beet, another female,
living on site.

at the STAND FOR LESS KICKOFF in San Diego April 8, 2009
The event was a collaborative masterpiece.
---
The STAND FOR LESS San Diego Kickoff
was a major success for
BRIDGETT LUTHER,
Director of the California Department
of Conservation. The Duo, Bridgett and Ed,
have another date upcoming in San Diego
April 19, when they, along with 10 NEWS
Co-anchor STEVE ATKINSON
and CLAUDIA LLAUSS, Azteca America
San Diego, with be co-anchors of the
CHILDREN's EARTH DAY PARADE.
The parade marches
through the EarthFair in Balboa Park at
10:30 AM and ends at the Children's Activity Area.
The SAN DIEGO EARTH FAIR is the large free
Earth Day event in the USA.

In recent negotations with CAROLYN CHASE,
pioneering spirit behind the The SAN DIEGO EARTH FAIR,
and a noted "Beet" Keeper in these environs,
KEEP The BEET Media Star was offered
a post as Assistant Grand Marshall of the Children's Parade.
Assistant was good enough for the Noble
Beet, who admits she does have Oscar-like visions
in her eyes.
In PAIGE DONNER's HUFFINGTON POST
wrapup of HOLLYWOOD GOES GREEN,
KEEP The BEET was quoted a paragraph above
the Governor of California. Although she teaches
that Plants Go First, KEEP the BEET doesn't
want to pull rank on her human friends
who are just getting use to the idea of the
World's First Talking Beet Plant
and her very important messages
that appear frequently here
on the Plant Your Dream Blog.
MICHAEL R. NIGGLI, Chief Operating Officer for SGD&E,
hooked up with KEEP The BEET Media Star,
The World's First Talking Beet Plant.
They had a lot to share.
____
In other Big News today,
KEEP The BEET had raves for
MICHAEL R. NIGGLI,
Chief Operating Officer for
SDG&E, who preceded Ed on the
platform. Michael, and KEEP The BEET
saw eye to eye on a number of topics
and in their off-stage conversation
Michael said he would point
KEEP The BEET in the direction
of grant funding opportunities
for her unique project that aims
to give each of us back the confidence
that we can grow a bit of our own food.
KEEP The BEET sees the SDG&E as
a friend to innovation and knows
they will be spearheading
the latest Green Innovations
destined to spark our economy
with new energy.
"One Pot+One Person=You're a Gardener
is KEEP The BEET Media Star's program.
KEEP The BEET was also pleased
to meet TERESA PENUNURI
of the SAN DIEGO COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY.
KEEP The BEET will be dictating PLANT YOUR DREAM
BLOGS in the weeks ahead in support
of the 20 GALLON CHALLENGE to
Save Water Now. KEEP The BEET invited
Teresa to come visit some of her local
organic farmer friends and beet growers
at the HILLCREST FARMERS' MARKET
Sunday 9 AM-2 PM.
Between them, KEEP The BEET says
they will be able to figure out some ways to
conserve water and still help San Diego
fulfill its destiny as one of the finest
growing food capitals in the world.
KEEP The BEET wants to promote
a new conservation effort, where
people who do 20 Gallon Challenge
or more, can designate saved
water for local, organic farming.
Many local, organic farmers
are conserving already. This year
JOE RODRIGUEZ JR is growing
half the food he did in recent years,
in light of mandatory
30% water allotments. Rumors
are flying that cutbacks will be
40% in 2009 for farmers. Fines for going
beyond their allotments are severe.
THOMAS BRUCCOLERI, Senior Transportation Planner
for SANDAG,
is another key player in
STAND FOR LESS. KEEP The BEET and
I are looking forward to Rooting for
the outstanding work of SANDAG.
They are involved in all kinds of transportation
initiatives, and promote bike riding and use
of all of our public transporation systems
in San Diego. It was great meeting Thomas.
I am sure we will meet again before long!!!
In other BEET related news, KEEP The
BEET wanted to make sure that everyone
noted she was mentioned in
THE ULTIMATE GARDENER,
http://www.hcibooks.com/p-3874-the-ultimate-gardener.aspx
the new Hot Seller from HCI books.
CHARLIE NARDOZZI, the author of the
conpendium of more than 40 stories
and the works of 15 photographers,
was at the White House recently
where he helped First Lady
MICHELLE OBAMA plant
the new Organic Garden.
KEEP The BEET also has very own
column in SPACE OF LOVE Magazine
beginning in April, and is heavily
mentioned in a transcribed interview
from her appearance on
RON NASH's
CAREER ZONE.
The SPACE OF LOVE magazine is an international offering
inspired many people worldwide
who are returning to the garden.
