Keeping your Word

If my actions do not match my words then I feel like a hypocrite – A person in constant conflict. And conflict is the opposite of harmony. A quotation from the Quran: “You who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Greatly hateful it is in the sight of God that you say that you do not do.
If I am not in the building I have described above, then I am not on the pillars of Islam. According to the Quran, prayer prevents an individual from indecent behavior. If I do indecent things then I have to ask myself: Am I really performing prayer or just engaging in ritual?

**Nothing irritates me more than people who do not keep their word. They are absolute creatures of no need to me. A Muslim is as good as their word. If I give my word, I have to be half dead if I do not keep that promise.

Ok, sure there are instances of excuse but mostly humans are creatures of habits and they promise and promise and promise.
It is normal here in Jordan when you call a fixit man to come and repair anything they will say, "Tomorrow, for sure I promise." Then tomorrow you ring the man, "Where are you." Then again you get the same reply.

Should we not be afraid of Allah or God and know that for each action their is a punishment or a reward on judgement day. Even if you don't believe in judgement day should you not want to be ethical.

So two thumbs down for anyone who does not keep their word and Two Hurrays and a Jig for anyone who does.
