...In the last remaining synagogue
in Krakow--I made a march
for the six million, but then,
while I was singing this sad melody,
I looked through all the tears
and I could see them, the six million,
looking back at us, and saying,
Is this the way, to go to Yerushalayim,
Why don't you dance?
--Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach

We are Roses for Schlomo

ROSE is the past tense of RISING.
ROSE, as in HE/SHE ROSE UP to the OCCASION
as in STANDING UP
to ALLOW OUR DOING TO BE AN OUTGROWTH of our BEING.

To come OUT AND BE out of hiding
TO BE REVEALED, UNBOXED in how beautiful and open we can be
as Shlomo, a lover for the world
who loved so many people in the world.

I listen to others who he touched.
Millions of eyes he touched, hearts, and souls.
I see through everyone's story
that Shlomo was a man, but more than a man and woman
he is the part in each of us named by G-d SHLOMO,
a branch of the Tree of LIFE named Shlomo.
To be a Shlomo is to express the part of each of us that can grow
through every broken heart and across all boundaries.

To be a Shlomo is to be the part of us that arises to love.,
that steps up to palnt in every broken heart a new seed for a new garden,
that seeds in every crack a garden waitng to grow out a a ROSE.

With his voice and spirit,
He is the song of Solomon.
He is the voice of the Beloved inside each of us
waiting to be touched.

Behold, he comes,
leaping upon the mountains
bounding over the hills in his earthy ways
that are heaven sent,
"Arise, my love, my fair one
and come away" Be yourself fully, step up and be
your self.
for Lo, the Winter of our Sleeping Soul is past,
the Rain is over and gone, though may it come again,
that flowers may appear on the earth.
The time of singing has come,
and it is NOW time to be the voice of the turtle dove here in our land.
