LOTS OF GREAT VIDEOS!
Bianca Alexander, Exec. Producer Co-Host, Conscious Living TV,
was moderator of the Sustainable Fashion and the enw Eco-Haute Culture
at HOLLYWOOD GOES GREEN, December 8-9, 08, the
Green Summit held at the Universal Hilton.
Here is the story:
At the end of the first day of HOLLYWOOD GOES GREEN,
I spent time with BIANCA ALEXANDER, host of
CONSCIOUS LIVING TV. We were being served some
wine and cheese. I had brought a basket of little yellow tomatoes
that I picked up from my friend JOE RODRIGUEZ JR
at the Farmers' Market the day before.
I offered Bianca one of Joe's Tomatoes.
The taste of these tomatoes is extraordinary.
Sweet, non acidic, delicious, fresh.
Bianca had a reaction. I snapped this photo of her.

Papa Joe, Joe Rodriguez Jr. father,
and the head of this fourth generation farming family
drives up to the Los Angeles area for the
Santa Monica (Pico) Farmers Market Satirday market,
hours 8:30 AM-1 PM
and the Mar Vista Farmers Market
hours 9 AM-2 PM.
A lot of the food grown goes unsold.
I urge Hollywood to reach out to this fourth generation
farming family.
The Rodriguez Family currently runs a CSA as well.
There is a waiting list for Spring.
The Community Supported Agriculture model
gives the local farmer more security.
Shoppers give the farmer money in advance to pay
for the food that is grown, allowing our local
farmers to wake up each morning and say,
"Happiness is organic!"

A LOVE LETTER TO JOE THE FARMER:
FARM UPDATE:
30% water cutback by the state of California
has forces our local so cal farmers to grow less food
at a time when more locally grown organic food is needed.
This is an issue of Earth-Based Homeland Security.
A new development is one the horizon.
Water restrictions will be taken off,
but the farmers will have to pay the same for
water as residents. The high cost of water would drive
the cost of locally grown organic food off the charts
and oput of the reach of most shoppers.
Many commercial farmers still receive subsidies.
It is time that the remaining local organic farmers
in So Cal be underwritten. That is my take.
How can our local farmers be supported now?
Shop the farmers' markets. Go out of your way to do this.
Tell your friends to do the same. Every unit of food grown
needs to be sold.
Joe Rodriguez Jr has called for a moment of Awakening.
That was the impetus behind KEEP the BEET Media Star,
the World's First Talking Beet Plant. This project was
started to create a moment of awakening.
