ENTERING
PLANT PARENTHOOD

The spirit
behind
SEEDS
asks
that we
plant
them.

Plant a
seed.
A whole new
world
will grow
from your
very
hands
and care.
In exchange
you will
unfold
knowledge

and the wisdom
contained
in a tiny seed
will become your
wisdom
through applying
this knowledge
to all your
personal
seed dreams.

Human beings by nature
are here to DO something.
But How?

Doing Nothing has been
given a black eye.
Learning “to Vegetate”
is an answer to know what
to DO NEXT.

Sit.
Listen.
Be Plant-like.

Don’t be surprized
if doing nothing
brings up
fear,
anxiety,
other impediments
to Growth.
Don’t be surprised
to find your
mind filled
with something
bothersome before
answers
come.

Turning on
T.V.
Taking
a Pain Killer,
Eating down
a feeling
is often
a distraction
in times
like these.

Stay where you are,
especially in Winter.

The solution
will enter
the Mind
in a flash
that feels good.

Flashes are latent abilities
that come from Doing nothing.

Take away
doing something.

Sitting is appropriate
for Winter.

22.

HOW'S THE WEATHER?

A pre-requisite for balanced
growth on earth is
learning to grow naturally.

Living on earth
is a “How To”
course that nature
teaches through
hands-on experience.
Growing plants
teaches this.
Growing plants
is a remedial measure.

Plants are
pre-occupied
with growing
a natural world.

That’s why
they are here.

They remind
us to do the same.

This
is the essence
of
PLANT
PARENTHOOD.

Plants and
humans wilt
without care.
We both need
watering and
nutrients.

Little plants in pots
are like little baby
children calling
for care and attention.
In caring for them,
we can establish
a pattern of self care.

Life
is
Precious.

It
simply
asks
to be
grown
out.

Plants
are
action
plans
that grow
by
simply
being.

They
express
an
inevitability
of
a better
day
for
Mother
Earth
in
earth.

When you plant
a particular
kind of seed
a particular kind
of plant will grow
out of it.

Connect
your
action plan
with the
growth
of a
tiny seed.

Be O.K.
starting
small.

Something
beautiful
will grow
from this.

Connect
the
plant
you intend
to grow
with a
tiny seed.

Something
beautiful
will grow
from this.

Connect
your intention
to
a
particular
seed.
When that seed
roots,
your
intention
is
rooting.

The finished
plant
is already
in your life
becoming
present.

Plant
the breakthrough
you want to have.
Imagine a
personal state
of being
you want to
see in front
of your eyes
as a fully
grown plant.

When
the present
hurts,
Look at it.
Breath
in deep
garden
fragrance.
Imagine
something
else.

Take
solice
in the garden.

Plant your
Seed Dream.

Complete
the past
in the soil
of the present.
Grow
the future
in the present.

Plant the Love
you intent
to have in your life.

Plant the
hopes God
and you
intend your life
to produce.

Plants
are spiritual expressions--
they reflect a consciousness
that belongs to
all worlds.
They represent a wholeness
that expresses and connects
all worlds.

GARDENING
ENSOULS
OUR SELF
IN THE WORLD

Living a lifestyle
that goes
with gardening
gives us a fighting
chance
to ensoul our self
in this world.

Many
activities
are without
Soul
in this 20th
century
coming
to an end.

The fulfilled
21st century
will be
a time when
activity
is again
ensouled.

Plants
provide
insulation from the
harsh elements of life.

Plants
are reminders
of a Soul history
lost on earth
called Eden
and the same
Soul history
unfolding
called
the
Enchanted Garden.

The Enchanted
Garden
exists
is the same
place
and
space as Eden,
only the
people
have wised
up.

Soul growth
is an expression
of experience
that has been
fully digested
through self
reflection
in the presence
of patience.

Gardening creates
space and time
for Soul growth.

“So much of Nature as he is ignorant of,
so much of his own mind does he not yet possess.
And in fine, the ancient precept,
“Know Thyself,” and the modern precept,
“Study Nature,” become as last one Maxim.”

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
The American Scholar

Plant Parenthood is the name
I give to gardening that aims to grow the Enchanted Garden.
Through Plant Parenthood, the earth teaches me how to piece my life together
as I cultivate the petals of wisdom inherent in my soul and every living seed.
The seed is the physical equivalent of my soul growing in soil. I grow peace, as I piece together.
Through growing seeds in a holy way, I renew the connection
between my divine nature reflected in natural creation.
When I plant Seeds in my life, I grow the Enchanted Garden,
a name for the new earth. The new earth, a peaceful planet, grows one plant at a time,
one person at a time, from inside each person.
Through growing seeds and plants, I mark important life cycle moments
and affirm my life's fulfillment. Peace in my life, and in the world, is an outgrowth of my joy.
Joy grows as we see our seed dreams grow.
Peace is also the end result of my courage to open. On days I feel tested,
when nothing seems to be growing in my life,
I let watering be a reminder that something beautiful is growing
and mending my life! On days I am forlorn, I feel my feelings,
and then return to the garden.
Growing seeds, I nurture my "inner plant nature," the primal, essential,
organo-vegetative side in me that feeds my dreams from the ground up.
"Vegetating" precedes "Doing" when I live naturally.

Coming Home

“When I come home
I want to garden strength.
I’m cutting back a few hours
a week to do what I love to do...
I love to Garden”
--Alison Hunter
Valentine’s Day ‘98

Plants express
the essence
of home
coming.
They create
sanctuary
for the soul
on earth.

WHEN YOUR PLANT
GROWS, SIGN THIS
DECLARATION...

To grow a PLANT
is to express
a PROCLAIMATION
of INTENTION.
IT is to issue forth
a DECLARATION
of
INTERDEPENDENCE
with all life.
To GROW a PLANT is
to express
a commitment to caretake
the earth
and be a caretaker
of all shared dreams.

World Peace Celebration
Declaration of Interdependence

I declare
the Earth my home
and I the steward and friend
of the Earth and all its offspring
in every race, culture, and consciousness.
I too carry a torch of liberty.
Let every living thing know me as a refuge,
a space of safety, an open portal welcoming
new visions and human possibilities,
a sanctuary of peace,
a protector of the sacred child in everyone.
Come share my warmth
and relight my candle flame
with love and inspiration
should I ever forget who I am.
I promise to defend the peace
through being a peacemaker.

I declare myself a responsible citizen of the planet,
taking strength and security in this agreement.
This is my assurance and insurance against war,
that within me, I am making peace.
Let everyone know from this moment my declaration
of interdependence to you, to my city, to my country,
to my planet, to my universe.
Let everyone know of my commitment
to experience unity through diversity
and personal and world transformation.

We are seeds of peace;
I am the Earth
and the fullness thereof.

“Let us seek truth everywhere;
let us cull it wherever we can find
its blossom or its SEED.
Having found the seed,
let us scatter it to the winds
of heaven.
Whencever it may come,
whithersoever it may blow,
it will germinate.
There is no lack
in this wide universe
of Souls that will form
the new ground."
