Buying some Birthday gifts for myself.

protective cover for my iphone.

Dock to play used from Iphone in EG Mobile when I travel.

Cable to transfer audio tapes to cd using Garage band.

Greg sent me directions.

make sure vloume is up on tape deck.

come out of headphone jack into input on the back of the iMac
the input looks like 2 triangles pointing into a circle

open garageband

select Create New Music Project

Go to the upper left hand corner to Garageband
select Preferences (or type command ,)
in the Pref window select Audio/MIDI
set the Audio Input to Built-in Input

at the very top of the screen you'll see Garageband in the upper left corner.
(If not you need to see Garageband in the upper left corner.)
across the top find Track
click on track and select New Basic Track

in the bottom right corner of the Garageband window click on the i in a circle
this will open up your information panel on the right hand side
on the right hand side Next to Input Source select Stereo Built-in input
set Monitor to On.

WARNING:!!!!! If you have it set to Built-in Microphone the computer will make a loud squeel

Go to your Basic Audio track next to No Effects you'll see two horizontal sound meters.
As to setting the volume you'll need to use trial and error

At the top go to the Control Menu Make sure there is no check mark next to Metronome.

The tape deck should be plugged into your Mac. press play on the tape.
You should see levels on the computer on the track labeled No Effects

Click the red record button on very bottom of the Garageband window.

Go to Share to send the final music to iTunes
