It's hard to start, but once you do, you're golden...

...when the weather starts to turn warm again. That's why I like May; and that's also why - if I'm contemplating a juice fast, that's the month I end up starting. This week, the weather began to get nice again.
A "Biggest Loser Summer Bikini Challenge" began at work on the last day of March. I joined to give myself an incentive to get the weight off, and maybe win some money. A few months before the challenge began; I had joined a fitness boot camp. I hung in there for a while, but eventually dropped out. It was hard physically; but even more psychologically - to never feel like I was winning...however, I did lose weight & gain some muscle.
So far, the bikini challenge is 1/3 of the way completed. I have been attempting to find my focus. To that end, this is what has transpired:
I decided a juice fast was a no-brainer, so I started with 2 1/2 days on juice; but then stopped. The next two weeks or so, I switched to: Juices, coffee, water in the a.m. with one large organic raw meal for dinner which I enjoyed and lost weight on, but the meals were expensive and I wanted faster weight loss results. I ate whatever I wanted a few days, while gearing up for Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss program - which was recommended to shed the pounds faster. I went from one meal a day, to 3 low carb meals a day. I lost weight. That lasted one week. It too works, but I moved on. You may wonder why I didn’t just stick with the juices. Good Question. The answer is Brix & pH - Alkaline/Acid Balance. My experience has taught me that it is not in the best interest of my health to undertake another lengthy juice fast with poor quality produce; and whatever route I decide to choose, I need to continually build up my mineral reserves, and release the excess acid from my body to bring it into balance. I didn't have this info before, but I'm glad I do now. So what will it be? A juice fast, of sorts. I researched Moreless’ forum & the web looking for answers, and will proceed using the Moreless protocol: skin brushing, alkalinizing shower, or detox bath in the a.m., 2-4 alkalinizing drinks w/ extra kelp & lime throughout the day, water, Naked &/or Odwalla carrot juice, some fresh juices, herb tea, master cleanse drink w/ a half dose of blackstrap molasses instead of maple syrup, Healthforce Nutritionals powdered Vitamineral Green and Vitamineral Earth, omega 3/shark liver oil capsules. With the exception of the alkalinizing drink & water, I may not have all these products everyday. I feel better & more focused, now that I have a workable plan; and expect that I will be following this beyond the Bikini Challenge, (which ends on June 30) to achieve my goal. This week I have been getting my feet wet so to speak, but I haven’t jumped all the way in.I’ve followed this, with the addition of one meal at night. I’m thinking this Saturday is a good day to start officially; and then that’s it. There will be no going back until I’m done or until hunger kicks in, and that’s going to be a long time…At least it will be nice and warm out.
