Art in the Garden, 2008

Saturday, May 24th 9am-4pm
Each year we have around twenty local artisans (from eight year olds to octogenarians!) display their homemade wares in and around the nursery. From beading to knitting, painting to gifts for your home, this is a unique and lovely way to celebrate spring, support artists, and enjoy the sunshine. This event is completely free to participate in and if you’re interested in having a table, the deadline for artists to secure a spot will be Monday, May 19th. Please contact us at (619) 284-6358 or email us (your name, phone number, what you’d like to sell) at events@cityfarmersnursery.com.

This year, there will be a special addition to Art in the Garden: a charity art sale benefiting the Farmer-Veteran Coalition. The coalition works to provide both viable vocational training and a therapeutic experience for deserving young Americans—our Veterans--while addressing our country’s critical lack of young farmers and the publics' growing demand for greater local food production. 20th Annual Pumpking Growing Contest, 2008

Judging @ 11am, Fall Art & Craft Show @ 9am-4pm
This year will mark the 20th anniversary of City Farmers Nursery’s Annual Pumpkin Growing Contest! Free to all kids 16 and under, this wonderful contest is a super way for young gardeners to learn about growing their very own pumpkin using special City Farmers seeds! The fun culminates on Saturday, October 25th with a festive contest day including craft exhibitors, piñatas, face painting, and prizes! Drop by the nursery to sign up your little one, a neighbor, or a classroom!
