End of Mess by YourEnchantedGardener .....

The End of Mess is coming one way or another. Shifts in local farming, shifts in being at this house the way it stands now, are a certainty.

Lots to do today.

I would like to have a table at the
Local Vendor Day at Whole Foods Market Hillcrest
from noon-3 PM on Saturday April 5.
I will need to follow up with Ray Kau.

I would like to commit to do a Closing Ceremony
Monday April 21 for a Community Oriented Conference
at the Del Mar Fair. I will need to call Catherine Bryan.

I have some bills I want to pay.
Cox...and Credit Card. This is for peace of mind.

I want to inform the Organic Center that the Web gallery is up.

I want to get a first draft of the Joe the Farmer things
up that I was working on last night.

Joe is asking for an Awakening regarding Food Priorities.

Joe, represents an Archetype to me for the heart and soul
centered local organic farmer who loves his land.
The Crisis keep getting more and more intense.
It looks like he will leave land fallow, unplanted,
at a time when the Organic Center is calling for
organic usage to go up from its current 3-4%
to 10 percent within less than two years.

Where is the organic food to come from?

We are banking I imagine on it coming from other
countries. We are not Banking on it coming from
local organic farmers in San Diego, that seems
certain. They are not getting the support they need.

The current cutback in food growing here in San Diego
is coming at the same time when we are looking to become
energy independent from other countries.

This is an interesting paradox.
Become energy independent,
less dependent on other countries for our oil,
but become more dependent on them for our food.
Do you see what I am seeing?

If Joe was turned loose to grow,
he could grow a whole lot more food.
He is being regulated this year.
In spite of lots of rain providing water,
he is being asked to use 30% less.
IF he used more, he gets severe fines.
If he continues to get the fines, he will be shut
down from growing food at all.

On the homefront here, this experiment in
Intentional Community is about to come to
a point of decision.

I am leaving in a Mess.
The Mess has got to end one way or another.

Living with others on this planet requires energy.
It takes paying attention.
It takes intention that is understood.

We are on our way back to the Garden.
If we are not on our way back to being a nation of
Gardeners, we will become a nation of non-existence.

Does that sound extreme enough?
I am sure what I just said makes no sense
to most people.

Most of us are dependent on others to grow our food.
Most of us have never experienced putting a seed in the ground
and watching it grow.
Most of us who live in San Diego right now, do not
have an orange tree in bloom, we are not personally involved
in nature's growth. To a good extent, we are cut off from our own
nature because we are cut off from natural growth around us.

We are getting less and less connected to nature.
This is the message of Dr. Bernard Jensen.

The house as it exists today, will not exist this way
by the end of the year or sooner.
Something will shift. I will either be here
living in a different relationship to the people who live here--
more in intentional community, or I will likely be living elsewhere.
I have been living here since 1982.

There is pressure not to refinance, the easiest scenario
or sell this 1/3 acre property from m other co-owners.

Actually, that is how Joe the Farmer lost ownership of
his land. There was pressure from the other relatives
to sell the farm. It was sold. Not he is leasing that land.
IT is being held in all likelihood for Real Estate Development.
That is the priority for land in San Diego for the most part.
We are into flipping, more than grounding and living
in harmony with development that makes sense from
a balance human perspective.

Enough said for now.

Lots to do today.
