I
I was in the hospital for an outpatient Kidney stone Procedure last Wednesday, June 25.
Yesterday the stent was removed, Monday, June 30, 2014.
I am happy to report that I was able to avoid using the prescribed Narcotic drug Hydrococodone. I used AminoActiv instead. There was some pain from the stent inside me, but I did not want the toxic side effects of the narcotic.

I was in touch today with Jason Wiggers who works for Vireosystems, the makers of AminoActiv. In recent weeks I have been dealing with severe pain. One of my housemates and my assistant, severely sprained her ankle. We are using some alternative treatments, such as clay and acupuncture that have helped, but the pain has been so severe that Oxycodine, a narcotic, and now, ibuprofen, has been her drugs of choice.
I had some StayActiv--around the house. This product and AminoActiv--I learned today--are available.
I am very concerned with Advil-a form of Ibuprofen. It has negative side effects. My assistant seems drawn to AminoActiv. I will keep you posted on our results. My goal will be to see if I can transition her off the more toxic drugs.

WHAT IS AMINOACTIV?
FROM THE AMINO ACTIV WEBSITE
What is AminoActiv®?
The AminoActiv® product is based on common and natural molecules including Ethyl - (a-guanido-methyl) ethanoate — which is a blend of several amino acids. Individually, the amino acids do not have anti-inflammatory properties but, when synthesized in our Patent-Protected process, they together form a compound that expresses the same dose-related anti-inflammation effects as Ieading NSAID’s — like ibuprofen (a popular non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug).
The main difference is that AminoActiv® accomplishes its pain relief without side effects — such as stomach ulceration (gastro-intestinal bleeding) or toxicity to the liver or kidneys. Also, AminoActiv® will not slow down protein synthesis, inhibit COX pathways, or interfere with tenocyte functions as NSAID’s do — all are key to muscle, bone, tendon, and ligament repair and healing. AminoActiv additionally acts to prevent inflammation due to reactive oxygen species (ROS) and their detrimental effects on tissue.
Safety, toxicity, and necropsy studies were performed at a major university medical center with no negative side effects or contraindications observed — even when dosed at super-therapeutic levels (30x recommended dosage). This data was submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which granted allowance for the product to be offered to the OTC (over-the-counter) market.
With its potent, but safe blend of Ethyl - ( a-guanido-methyl) ethanoate and other homeopathic pain and inflammation extracts*, AminoActiv® has proven itself to be an effective, healthy, and natural alternative to many OTC and prescription pain-relieving drugs.
NOTE: Some athletic governing bodies limit the use of amino acids for student-athletes, but since AminoActiv® is NOT an aimino acid after synthesis is complete, it is fully compliant with doping control standards for clinical pain management use by sports medicine staff.
* Foeniculum vulgare extract is derived from the umbelliferous herb which belongs to the Apiaceae family. Bromeliaceae is an extract from the Ananas comosus flowering monocot plant.
AminoActiv® is a homeopathic analgesic.

ARTICLE ON AMINOACTIV
FROM LIVE WELL MAGAZINE
First, it's all-natural. Researchers Jonathan Vennerstrom and Dennis Robinson based AminoActiv on three naturally occurring amino acids, which UNMC has patented under the trade name AlphaGEE.
Alpha-Gee, the active ingredient, includes natural substances that aid the body's ability to repair itself.
“This is the opposite of NSAIDS and analgesics. Although they mask pain temporarily, they also can inhibit the body's ability to heal itself," Vennerstrom said. "That's because they slow the bone recalcification, oxidation and protein synthesis necessary for building and maintaining muscle and bone strength and impede the production of collagen, which promotes tendon, ligament and joint health.
“Issues with bones, muscles and joints are the three leading causes of pain, and AminoActiv can be used to treat a wide array of conditions. Robinson said there is considerable anecdotal evidence that it helps to relieve pain associated with several neuromuscular diseases such as post polio syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines and multiple sclerosis and can be used for back pain and plantar fasciitis (a painful foot condition frequently experienced by runners).” Vennerstrom added, “It even seems to reduce varicose veins.”
Vennerstrom has experienced AminoActiv's healing properties first-hand.

IN LIVE WELL MAGAZINE
Accordingly, both UNMC scientists are excited about the product's introduction to the public. “The applications can be huge,” Robinson said.
Mark Faulkner, president of Vireo Systems Inc., located in Madison, Tenn., oversees AminoActiv's marketing, business development, manufacturing and packaging. He explained why the applications are significant.
“Baby boomers want to remain active, but they experience nagging, chronic pain,” he said.
This can affect personal finances.
“After antibiotics, the second-most-prescribed medications in the U.S. are written for pain. It's a $35 billion industry,” he said. “The key part of AminoActiv is that it costs about $25 — as much as a co-pay.”
The final, perhaps most important, benefit of using AminoActiv?
Because it's natural, there are no problems with addiction or toxicity. That means it relieves pain without the side effects linked to over-the-counter and prescription drugs. For example, sustained use of acetaminophen can cause liver damage, while ibuprofen can similarly affect the kidneys.

MY HISTORY WITH THIS PRODUCT
I first met Mark Faulkner at the Natural Product Expo West in 2008. Through him I met Dan Onishuk, who was working with this product for a number of years. Dan understands that pain is often an important indicator from the body that lifestyle changesare needed, however, there are times when we need a productthat can be used to work with pain and not cause the body harmwith side effects damaging the Kidneys, Liver, and other organs.
Mark Faulkner was involved in drug testing for the NFL, NCAA, and the Olympics. He wanted to create products that athletes could use to build muscle mass and help recover from athletic and active sportslifetyles without hurting the body. He wanted to do something goodfor people.
He has created a number of products that are bearing fruitful results in clinical studies.
I am looking forward to further communication
about the products.

Leslie, it was a pleasure speaking with you today. I hope that we can
accomplish some good and help those who need an alternative to OTC's {*) with effectiveness and an constant effort to maintain safety for all users.
AminoActiv, is the result of over 5 years of research and development at
the University of Nebraska's Medical Center in Omaha. Their goal was to
create an alternative to cox inhibitors and otc drugs involved with
anti-inflammation and pain relief that can cause side effects that are
harmful to other organs in the body.
For years, Nebraska has been examining how the body strengthens, heals and maintains wellness through natural science. Here in lies the results- Amino Activ. AA is one way of utilizing the natural amino acids in the body, concentrating and blending them to accelerate healing naturally without the risk of any side effects and a safe alternative to ibuprofen, naproxin, aspirin and acetaminophen. This is available in a capsule form and as a topical cream. Both can be taken at the same time.
Over the next month we will complete the final proofs of the clinicals and
post them as well as update our temporary website. What I can share with you
that I read in the clinicals is Amino Activ is as effective at reducing
inflammation as Ibuprofen. That is good, you are getting effective results
with no toxicity and the result is accelerated healing. What we tend to
forget is the body is always in a defensive state of protection or survival.
When an injury occurs-I guess pain is good, it let's us know something is
wrong and inflammation points to the area while at the same time opens up
the blood vessels so important amino acids and enzymes can get to the area
to heal. After reading and speaking to some of the researchers involved in
the development of Amino Activ, I never realized how disruptive
anti-inflammatory and pain relief medications are to other parts of your
body. For example-I understand that NSAID meds decrease production of
prosatglandins (the chemical messengers that promote inflammation) which
eventually reduce pain, but also inhibit the good work of cox-1 and cox 2
enzymes which are vital to healing and health to other organs like our
kidney and liver-and the stomach/intestinal lining.
I never realized that over 20,000 people each year die from aspirin
complications or close to 150,000 people each year are sent to the emergency
rooms due to pain relief overdose and toxicity.
I should be smarter I guess. I tend to believe that everyone has good
intentions-my college economics professor once said to us in our very first
class "Each of you today will be given an "A" and by the end of the semester
many of you will prove me wrong". How true, too soon you get old, too late
you get smart-words of wisdom from my father.
Six years ago I was diagnosed Type II diabetes-adult onset as they call it.
no history of it in my family, could I lose 20 lbs- yes, overweight not
really, eat healthy-yep, so what went wrong? I was shocked, I love food,
this was a very sad day for me-I needed more than nutrition counseling or a
diabetic nurse-I needed real therapy. I have not been without food since I
was a fetus now that I think about it. My doctor knew what I was in for so
he sent me to a diabetic nurse counselor-after an hour with me I sent her to
a barroom. She told me to lock up and headed out the door for a stiff
drink-she looked at my wife and said this is a first "I need a stiff one
before I head home-how do you do it, he talked about food like it was a
Monet". Being from Boston, I was fortunate the Joslin Diabetes Center was 20
minutes from my house. I signed up for every study-I wanted to beat this and
get on with eating. Today it hasn't changed, but what I did learn is a lot
about myself and the medical/pharm community. While medicines are suppose to help you recover, assist you with a medical disease, and be a healthful treatment-some meds just create another problem, another issue, another side effect, and you often can find more meds to solve those problems. The more I learned the more I questioned and the more puzzled I became, and the less confidence I had with taking these drugs-I felt like they caused more harm and now I am seeking alternatives.
So when Amino Activ came along it was refreshing to understand as well as
trust the validity in the product. I too have sore bones and joints and I
enjoy the comfort in the dosage and the safety behind it. I would recommend
it to anyone.
On another note, Con-Cret creatine is another muscle supplement developed at the University. Visit the website:
http://www.con-cret.com
it is not just for
athletes, it is for anyone that is active and wants the benefit of a few
grams of pure creatine without any side effects to assist in supplementing
the muscles, your heart, your brain tissue, and your skeletal frame. Unlike
creatine monohydrate or ethyl ester creatines-this molecular creation is an
engineering marvel and breakthrough.
Best of health to you and all your friends,
Dan
