The History of Peace on Earth
I was feeling sad.
I have not seen Hummingbird
since the morning the last babe left the nest.
That was the day the Tree Trimmers came.
The havoc and noise was tremendous.
Did someone, something, something in
Hummingbird tell them not to be here?
Did something tell the last babe to leave
the nest before the chipper
with loud sound was set up less than
five feet away from Orange Tree
whose limb Mother Hummingbird had
chosen for her home?
That was Wednesday.
Today is Saturday.
I was out side with Paris.
We were taken time to talk.
It eased the loneliness I was feeling,
the loneliness that comes from not doing
our Dream Job.
I know there are things that are part of
our Dream Job that do not look like our Dream Job.
Record Keeping is one of those things for me,
but then, some people hire a book keeper
so their highest Gifts are in circulation.
What is my Dream Job?
One of the Prereguisites for being
an Enchanted Gardener are being here in the garden.
"I haven't seen Hummingbird since
they left the nest," I said to Paris.
"It would make me happy to see Hummingbird."
Then, I heard it. It was the swirl,
the familar swirl overhead.
"Do you see Hummingbird?"
I asked Paris. He said, "Yes!"
Hummingbird was right over my head in the branch
of the tree overhead.
I looked up.
It was Mother.
I book for the Babes.
There were a few a few fast darting flying
objects, but I cannot say it was the Babies.
The day moved along into other conversations
and things, but here I am a couple hours later
reflecting while preparing lunch
that Hummingbird came forth
when I called out.
The Miracles in the Enchanted Garden
are unceasing, yet we miss them,
not because they are not happening
but because we are not present.
