Guests at Jutta's Party. That Jutta with
her arms around me.
___
This is a Birthday Card we all made for
Jutta at her birthday party last night.
______
I did a ritual for Jutta's Birthday party last night.
The day was all uphill.
It was difficult to release my spirit.
I was fighting different messages
I received all week that made me question
how effective I would be doing this ritual.
I did not know too many people at the party.
Things got even more uncomfortable
as the guests started to arrive
Jutta stands about ten inches taller than I am.
90% of the people who came were taller than I was.
If this were a basketball team, and they knew how
to play basketball, they would have made
a a great team as far as height.
Numbers of the guests were well over six foot tall!
I am about 5' 4".
I wouldn't have taught something like this could
influence by confidence, but it did.
I was tired after a long day
of prep. I'd been up in the middle of the night
for a number of hours. That was nearly the tip
of the iceberg.
At the party, I used all my tools to get my confidence.
I prepared my Altars. I had my natural props.
Rhimax, the chemical free organic paper
I love so much for art and garden weed control,
came to my rescue!
I had brought a large roll,
and my bucket of Kid Crayons, pens.
and scissors.
I had in mind to make a group birthday card.
This was going to be my ice breaker.
To overcome my height discomfort, I knew I either
had to stand on a chair, or have everyone get
down on the ground.
I told the group that to pull off the ritual
, I needed to bring out the kid
in every one!
Nicole Nash was one of my best allies.
I was looking to her to find my comfort zone.
As soon as she arrived, she told me she
had had a headache all day, and was likely going
to be leaving in a short while.
I wanted her to stay.
The first thing I did was bring her some rosemary.
Then I did some pressure points on her hands.
Then we went outside. She started to feel better.
I also put Rosemary in botlting water and had
her breathe it in. This will take away a headache
for me. Nicole felt better.
At the point, she was ready to make a sign for
one of the plant containers I brought.
Nicole Nash is a great artist.
She was able to stay late into the evening.
She said that making that art was what she really
needed. It made her feel better to be doing art!
At that point, Michael Raye was playing music.
Jutta saw Nicole drawing, and said,
"I want to draw too!"
Nichole gave her a bit of Rhimax.
I had brought a roll.
I unfurled it.
That was when I let everyone know
that to do the ritual I had in mind,
we were all going to shift into play mode.
Most of the folks got down and sat on pillows!
A few of the guests were sitting on the couch.
The Rhimax helped me create a contained space.
At that point, I was standing taller than everyone!
I asked for help surrounding the Rhimax with
lovely squashes and gurds to further
make a sacred space.
All in all, I was satisfied with Jutta's birthday
ritual. About 80-90% of the guests participated,
and Jutta had a lovely card to take home
to remember a wonderful event.
