My challenges by mscaramelle .....

My Challenges are Many but not insurmountable

My challenges are many and the only way to see a good outcome is to commit to change the way I do things.

Weight has been an ongoing issue FOREVER, and even with support boards, I'm still the same weight today as I was in 2000.

January 13th marked 8 years that I quit smoking, but the weight was there long before that. Quitting smoking is what I am most proud of.

Exercise is now regular as of Thursday of last week. There's a YWCA in my building that I work so NO excuses. I'm 5/5 this week for aerobic classes.

My biggest challenge though is ridding myself of a virus. On January 31st of 2005, I tested positive for HIV and although no longer devastated, its always on the back of my mind. I love the internet for the ability to research alternative therapies and after just watching AIDS Inc, by Gary Null, I am now convinced that I will NEVER go on meds. I'm not on them now and its been 3 years.

My X-fiance infected me. Its so hard to understand how someone could be so careless and care even less about me. As it turns out, he was obviously not who I thought he was and is currently behind bars. I had no choice but to press charges. Unfortunately, he has infected 3 other women before being picked up. I hope they throw away the key, but I no longer waste any energy on that poor excuse for a human.

My challenges are before me and I am able to share this journey with many people. As a single parent, I have a responsibility to take the best care of myself as possible. The vacation I returned from with him and other family was awesome and rejuvenating and I'm ready for Operation Renovation.
