Spent some time with the Youth the other day in the Studio. These Hip Hoppers are Getting the Planet Hopping!

This is the Eighth Day of Chanukah.
The Day begins the Eve before.
I am going to the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit today
at the San Diego Natural History Museum.

It is the largest exhibit of Dead Sea Scrolls materials
repesented in the US of A, I do believe.

I am glad to be going on this auspicious day.

These are the youth singing these Hip Hops.
As Stephen Longfellow Fiske was saying the other day.
We are old enough to be their parents.

It is a Bright Shining Star of Hope that this young generation--
bonded to us Geeks in consciousness--are on the planet.

We are the Youth of our Generation--Fiske and so many of us
we paved the way and had personal contact with so many of the
Masters of our Time. We are the Boomers come of Age.

Now the Mantle passes to The Geeks.

Fiske is now 61. I am 60.
I am thinking in terms of the Legacy I want to create by the time I
am 80.

I am looking back.

I know that sometime today, there is a good chance that someone
will be hiking up a Trail in the Santa Susana Mountains around
Chatsworth.

I know that when I was the age of these youth, that was one of the things
I did. I committed my words and gave them to a suffering woman who
had her heart and soul in preserving those mountains and making a mountain
park. Today those Rocks--the ones you can see in
"They Died with Their Boots on" with Errol Flynn--
ARE the a part of the Santa Susana Mountain State Park.

I helped. I wrote an original history of the Stagecoach trails.

I helped that woman, Janice Hinkston, through her tears and torments,
and I stood by her side though her triumphs.

She is somewhere around 80 today and lives in another part of the country.

So I am thinking of that Right Now:

What will I have done with this Now, and Now, and Now,
by the time I am 80?

This is a Good Day to be Alive.
