San Pasqual Academy Unbeaten by Fire by YourEnchantedGardener .....
San Pasqual Academy, with 19 structures
burned, did not let this get in the way of their
winning the 8 man championship for their district.
Supervisor Ron Roberts used the inspiring story
as he asked those in attendance to donate funds
to help rebuild the school for foster teens.

Ron Roberts, the San Diego supervisor,
whose district covers the San Pasqual Academy,
made a point last night in pointing out that the home for
foster teens, recently damages in the recent San Diego Wildfires,
would not let that stand in the way of their winning their district
8 man football championship.
The school, a home for foster teens, had 19 structures burned.
The academy is the recipient of funds raised last night in a live and
ongoing on-line auction to benefit those effected by the
recent fires.
Roberts said that the story was picked up in Sports Illustrated Magazine
a couple weeks ago.
Here is a story about the win:

"San Pasqual Academy students were evacuated from their dorms during the fires and spent two weeks at Great Oaks Ranch in Vista. The Dragons (8-1) wore red and yellow socks and dedicated the game to the firefighters, who defended their campus against the blaze. Many of the firefighters attended last night's game.
“Everyone just kept fighting,” Collazo said. “We're out here fighting for the firefighters.”
Firefighters from the station located just behind the San Pasqual Academy football field are regulars at SPA's home games. They bring out their trucks and blast their horns whenever the Dragons score."
I am looking for the Sports Illustrated article.
