The air quality in my room
from smoke in San Diego burning
is enough to make me sneeze now
and burn my eyes.

This fire is a tremendous wake up call.

San Diego is one of the few places in the US
where balanced development in harmony with nature
could produce enough food to set a model for
true earth based Homeland Security.

Farmers here are stuuggling to survive
despite organic growing popularity.

Famrers are now being forced to adjust to
cutbacks in water due to environmental efforts
to save the Delta Smelt Fish up North.

30% cutback in water.

Farmers here, in the richest growing land
and county of hte most organic farmers in the US
do not get any break with water prices.

Land prices are at a premium.

Developers will build anywhere, by permit.

Golf courses get precedent for space.

Nature naturally burns and is in marriage
with what is being asked of the human condition
to come in harmony with ourselves.

Land now burned would be best used
in part returned to Farmland.

An inventory is needed of farm land suitable
for feeding the large population not only here
but elsewhere.

We face true food shortages in our country
of real food.

California is leading the trend to create a whole new economy
of Green living.

Farming in So Cal is part of the true green economy that needs
to be supported.
